Homemade Freshpet-Style Beef and Vegetable Roll for Dogs with colorful visible carrots and spinach, modeled on your new photo
Ingredients:
* 1 lb (450 g) lean ground beef (90% lean, raw, finely ground)
* ½ cup (55 g) diced carrots (peeled, lightly steamed, and cooled)
* ¼ cup (25 g) chopped spinach (fresh or thawed frozen, drained well)
* ½ cup (85 g) cooked brown rice (cooled)
* ¼ cup (20 g) rolled oats (plain, uncooked)
* 1 large egg (lightly beaten)
* 1 tbsp (15 ml) olive oil
* 1 tbsp (15 g) plain Greek yogurt (unsweetened, low-fat)
Supplements:
* None (unless directed by your veterinarian for balance)
Instructions:
1. Lightly steam the diced carrots until just tender but not mushy, then let cool.
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, carrots, spinach, cooked brown rice, rolled oats, egg, olive oil, and yogurt. Mix until evenly distributed.
3. Place mixture onto parchment paper or plastic wrap. Shape into a tight log, pressing firmly to remove air pockets.
4. Wrap tightly and place into a steamer basket or bake wrapped in foil at 350°F (175°C) for 45–55 minutes, until the center reaches 160°F (71°C).
5. Cool completely before unwrapping. Slice into rounds for serving.
Storage:
Refrigerate up to 5 days. Freeze up to 2 months. Thaw in the refrigerator before serving.
