THEFT & EXPLOITATION OF DOGS - BE CAREFUL!
Animal welfare organisations countrywide have warned and cautioned, pleaded and informed, and STILL we don't see sufficient awareness and a change in behaviour from the public. Dogs are left in the front yard right up against the gate, and scouts are easily able to identify and mark them, even hoist them over the gate in some instances. Others are left outside at night and are stolen when the fence wire is cut, or the gate is jammed open. In many instances, these syndicates are so brazen that they toss drugged meat over the wall, and then climb over to seize their 'money-machine'. Puppies are left outside - exposed and alone - often in the most bizarre way. Other dogs roam the street daily, vulnerable to every dodgy character in town.
PLEASE COULD WE ALL WAKE UP?
Power breed dogs are definitely sought after for fighting rings, but NO DOG IS SAFE. Many are stolen for resale value, and others end up in the most gut-wrenching torture as bait dogs. We share this post from Pit Pals, a rescue organisation in the Cape, because we WANT YOU TO SEE what a dog looks like that was stolen from a home. Can you imagine what this soul has been through?
PLEASE KEEP YOUR ANIMALS SAFE.
a) Dogs should be kept in the back-yard away from line of sight of the gate/road;
b) They should sleep inside at night so that they are safe and can protect you better without easy elimination.
c) Your perimeter of your yard MUST BE SAFE, including your front gate.
THANK YOU FOR SHARING THIS POST & RAISING AWARENESS.
NOTE: In case you missed it, the screenshot below clearly indicates that OWNER WAS FOUND. This boy is one of the lucky ones and now SAFELY BACK HOME. Thank you.
