August is Pet Dental Month here @ Mercury Street Veterinary Hospital. Less 20% throughout the whole month.
Why having your pets teeth cleaned is so important :
1. Overall health & longevity. The bacteria from their teeth can get into their blood stream which in turn damages their vital organs. (heart, kidneys and liver)
2. Bad Breath. We all want that cuddle time with our pets and sometimes their breath makes it difficult to stomach.
3. Pain. Periodontal disease can be extremely painful. It can also cause tooth abscesses, swelling gums, loose teeth thus making it difficult for your pets to eat.
4. Tooth loss. Once the bacteria gets under the gums the tissue supporting the teeth are slowly eaten away. Can be extremely painful.
Lastly remember we brush our teeth twice a day and get regular check ups, why not look after our fur babies teeth too?
