Neuro Paws Hoopers "Rules"
As Neuro Paws Hoopers is for home entertainment, we are going to keep it simple.
We will have 8 to 10 obstacles in a course, numbered 1 β 10.
All courses will be flowing for the handlers, so they will be suited for young and old.
No Agility equipment will be used as it is expensive to make and quite bulky for a small backyard.
The goal:
The end goal will be that every person wanting to participate will get a chance to βdesignβ a course and supply the measurements between the objects (hoops/cones) so everybody involved can pack out and run the same course.
As this is for fun, you can send in videos of your attempts or supply the times and faults (I will explain this next) made in that specific course.
Faults will include:
The dog was running past a hoop.
Taking the incorrect hoop.
Entering from the wrong direction.
Overturning the hoop.
Stopping to do business on the course and leaving the course.
Each of those will be a 5-point penalty.
After all the times and faults have been sent in, the winning dog will be displayed as the logo or background image of the Neuro Paws page until the next competition and will receive a fun certificate and bragging rights.
The losing team will need to design a course for the next event.
The winner will be the person and dog with the least faults and fastest time. Please remember that fast does not necessarily mean accurate.
We can have a separate event for the older dogs or dogs with disabilities. We want to include everybody.
Rules:
Anybody punishing a dog will be disqualified, and people using harsh training techniques will also be removed from this group. This is for fun, so no serious competitions will be on offer.
There will be people with Agility knowledge/experience, so if you get stuck, please feel free to ask for help.
Active Agility dogs will get a 5-second penalty as standard, or we will have something separate for them. It is a bit unfair to run a companion dog against a competitive agility dog.
The biggest rule of all is for fun and a laugh, so nobody will laugh at you, but we might laugh with you; it is all about having a blast with the dogs.
