Second trapping in one week.. wow.. adrenaline rush of note.. thank you Zeza for slot at kloof rd vet.. Earl Grey will be returned this evening to Zaakirah in Rondebult. He is a feral but she is looking after him so well.

We never thought we would go into TNR and feeding ferals.. my first experience trapping was amazing.. sadly we.lost the baby from the mommy trapped. Sad but this happens.. I have a GGC cologny that has more kittens than adults.. what a challenge..what.do I do when trapping kits..they are so cute and so small.. i wish I can bring those babies Home.. the one side has 10 babies.. starting this week they will be named.. mommy Minny and daddy Micky.. babies will be named accordingly. The team is so great helping to feed..still need our checking up. So exciting starting the year with a new cologny..

Mommy and kitten need food all the time. Don't feed and stop these cats need food to sustain the babies..

…is a comment we hear regularly. It's often said in a well-meaning way, by people admiring the way cats seem more independent than dogs.

But we don't think it's true. Every day, we see cats who are sick or malnourished. Cats who don't have clean water. Cats who've been neglected or abused.

And, of course, cats who haven't been sterilised. Who have begun breeding at as young as four months. Who are too hungry or sick to take care of their kittens.

Then there are the kittens left to fend for themselves, or taken from their mothers too early (which can be disastrous for both).

That's why we sterilise as many as we can afford, do our best to educate owners, and – when there's no alternative – uplift cats and try to find them more suitable homes.

All this takes time, which we volunteer gladly. It also, of course, takes funds. If you'd like to help us continue, all donations, big or small, are very much appreciated.

Unfortunately baby Lilo crossed the rainbow Bridge. She was just too weak and with the excellent meds and drips she received it was just too much for her little body to handle.. mommy Milo was released this afternoon.. not happy but we have food bowls set out for her a hand me down bed .. hope she will be fine.. thank you Zeza, Bev and vet Lee for everything

We had to replace an old feeder which was in a bad state (due to weather), we refurbished it and repainted added new cover. We donated this feeder to a feral cat cologny in Jet Park.. lots of kittens.. TNR to be discussed asap .. they do feed the cats and look well after them.. we dont want more babies. Every steried cat makes a difference..

Today I did my very first trapping.. wow what an experience.. caught baby by hand he didnt even have chance to run. First attempt to trap mommy, cage failed and she got out.. second attempt successfull. Had to use baby and extra pilchards to get milo in the trap.. it worked. Thanks to Zeza Da Costa and Michelle Raath advice and guidance. Thanks to Paule and the wonderful team where Milo is the factory mascot. She will be returning to the factory after steri tomorrow. Baby is not well due to dehydration..pray he will pull through..

G&K have adopted ferals at GGC from yesterday, only feeding now, TNR will be discussed next week..this is the mommy and daddy, saw 6 kittens with them and 2 others.. food left yesterday was gone.. thank you Brenda and Shawn for the donation.. we are new at this..
