On social media, you'll find lots of talk about dog training. People share what they do with their dogs, like hiking or hanging out together. Some folks push their own training methods as the only right way, while others stir up debates just for attention.

But here's the deal: not everything you see online is gold. Some trainers twist science to sound fancy, and others just want to argue. Instead of getting tangled up in all that, I focus on learning and training.

I believe in teamwork and learning from each other. There are some great trainers out there who share helpful stuff without getting into online fights. Remember, there's more than one way to train a dog!

So, when you're scrolling through videos or posts, use your common sense. Not every perfect trick you see is as perfect as it seems. And don't let mean comments get you down – your message will reach the right people.

Throwing balls or other toys repeatedly (on land) can be in the long term detrimental to your dog's joints. If your dog has already existing musculoskeletal issues it is a no-go.

Why not letting them search their toy and or treat as it generally does not involve the negative aspects like throwing toys
(eg. jumping fast and high, sliding, breaking with harsh/intense impacts).

Sniff work can be used indoors and outdoors and if done correctly, it is a healthy mental and physical workout for your dog and often they are as tired as after a walk and or play. Beside the additional great bonding with your dog, it is also a great extra "tool/skill" to have on days where one is may be homebound due to sickness, simply too lazy or tired to go for a walk, intense weather or too afraid to take the dog into the field, park due to high peak snake season....

I always recommend sniff work to my clients. However , it can be challenging to try to teach to your dog, depending on breed and individual behaviours. So here we go, contact Mariann and have fun!🐾💖
