Heading to the beach with your pet friend? Keep these tips in mind for a safe and fun time:

🐕 Keep Dogs on a Lead:
The beach can be full of distractions. Keep your dog safe and secure by using a lead. It’s also the responsible thing to do towards other dogs and dog owners.

💧 Bring Fresh Water:
Make sure your dog has plenty of fresh water to drink – and discourage them from drinking sea water, as it can lead to salt toxicity.

Let’s keep our beach days safe and enjoyable for both you and your pets! 🐶🌊

The festive season is a time for joy, but let’s keep it safe for our furry buddies too. Here are two must-know tips for pet parents this Christmas:

🍫 No Chocolate!
Chocolate is toxic to dogs and cats, even in small amounts. Keep those sweet treats safely out of reach!

🍖 Avoid Fatty Treats:
Rich, fatty foods like turkey skin, gravy, or leftover roasts can upset your pet’s tummy and even cause serious health issues like pancreatitis. Stick to pet-friendly snacks instead.

🐕 Keep Them Happy and Healthy:
If you’d like ideas for safe treats or have any concerns, we’re here to help!

Let’s make this Christmas wonderful for all without any emergencies. 🐾❤️

The holiday season is here, and many of us are planning trips with or without our furry friends. Here's how to make sure your pets are safe and stress-free during the holidays:

✅ Vaccinations:
If your pets are staying in kennels or catteries, double-check their vaccinations! Most facilities require them to be up to date. Pop in early to ensure everything is in order.

With cat breeding season in full swing, you may notice more cats roaming in search of mates. Did you know that cats can come into heat as early as 4-5 months of age and have their first litter shortly after? 😮 That means more kittens to cats that are still “babies” themselves. Is that fair?

Preventing unwanted litters is crucial, and the best way to do this is by having your cat sterilized. Not only does it help control the cat population, but it also improves your cat's health and reduces the chances of them roaming far from home.

Make a responsible choice and protect young cats from the strain of early pregnancy. Schedule your cat’s sterilization with us at Cottage Vet. 🐱❤️

📞 Don’t let your cat’s next adventure turn into a surprise! Call us today at (021) 856-2746 to schedule a sterilization appointment.

Cats are masters at hiding pain, so it's important for pet parents to be aware of the subtle signs of discomfort. Is your cat:

🔹 Moving less or hesitant to jump?
🔹 Becoming more withdrawn or irritable?
🔹 Struggling with grooming?
🔹 Using the litter box less frequently?

These could be signs of arthritis, a common condition in older cats. But there’s good news! 🐱

Introducing Solensia, 💉 a new monthly injection that provides relief from arthritis pain with minimal side effects. This treatment option is similar to Librela, used successfully in dogs, and offers new hope for improving your cat's quality of life.

Regular vet exams are essential to spot these early signs and ensure your cat is getting the care they need. Don’t wait—schedule your cat’s annual exam with us at Cottage Vet and ask about Solensia!

Yes, pets get allergies too, and we’re seeing a spike in pet allergy cases due to the high levels of tree pollen in the air. If your pet is scratching more than usual, licking their paws, sneezing, having unusually runny eyes, or showing signs of irritated skin, they may be experiencing allergies.

Don’t let them suffer in silence – schedule an appointment with us for a thorough check-up and advice on managing their symptoms.

We’re here to help keep your pets comfortable during allergy season! 💙
