RHINO IS NEUTERED🐶
Rhino (we love his name!) was very excited to return home after his neutering. Rhino is a teen pup on and his owner won't have to worry about him running off after the girls. Thanks again to the Good D.O.G. fund, granted by Animal-Kind International, for covering Rhino's neutering costs. Sterilization saves lives!

WHISKEY & BOXER
These 2 female dogs (yes, definitely females🤗) were spayed this week as part of the Good D.O.G. fund granted to the SPCA Grahamstown by Animal-Kind International. 2 unsterilized female dogs on one property can produce a large number of unwanted pups if left to breed. How wonderful to have their veterinary costs covered by the Good D.O.G. fund, making the impossible, possible!

THANK YOU
to everyone who assisted at the scene of the overturned animal trailer on the Port Alfred road this afternoon. Fortunately the ox was unharmed. With team effort, the ox was reloaded onto another trailer and went safely on its way.
Special thanks to the paramedics who directed traffic and the lovely lady who gave our staff cold drinks! Sincere thanks to all, and travel safely!

KELLY HAS BEEN ADOPTED🎉
When Kelly was surrendered late last year, she was very withdrawn and kept to herself. Over time she gained confidence and enjoyed interacting with staff, visitors and fellow kennel friends. She showed a particular fondness for children and when a family came to look to adopt a dog, their young daughter and Kelly fell in love ❤.
Kelly has settled in well at her new home, with a patient and loving family to make her feel special and loved. Thank you to this very special family for adopting one of our adult dogs!

NEW HARNESSES
The SPCA Grahamstown team came across this young man with his donkey cart in town a few weeks ago. On checking his donkeys, they discovered that the harnesses were unsafe and could easily cause an accident. They made an appeal to Philippa of Blind Love for any spare harnesses to assist this young man. This week the SPCA Grahamstown Inspectorate team handed over a lovely set of harnesses! Thank you to Blind Love and Animal Aid Abroad for making it possible to assist these donkeys! 🫏🫏

Poor Line was in an awful state with a pe**le prolapse. Line had corrective surgery for his prolapse and the vet neutered him at the same time, solving 2 problems. Thank you once again to the Good D.O.G. fund from Animal-Kind International for covering Line's veterinary costs. Line was returned home to his very grateful owner. Sterilization saves lives!

SURRENDER OR STERILIZE?
Recently this young kitty was brought to the SPCA Grahamstown to be surrendered as she was pregnant and the owners did not want the responsibility of a litter kittens. We asked about the possibility of sterilization as part of the Good D.O.G. fund (because 'good' dogs are nice to cats too😉) and they were delighted to hear of a solution so that they could keep their cat. Kitty was sterilized and returned home to them. Thank you to Animal-Kind International for once more making the impossible, possible!

SPOT IS SPAYED🎉
Our team came across Spot who had recently been on heat and her owners suspected that she was pregnant again, but didn't want any more puppies to deal with. No time to lose, Spot was booked in for a spay and now she no longer has to worry about raising endless litters destined for an unknown future. Sterilization saves lives!
Thank you to the Good D.O.G. Fund, granted to the SPCA Grahamstown, for covering Spot's veterinary costs!

CATS & KITTENS🌧
It's raining cats and kittens at the SPCA Grahamstown. In addition to the gorgeous Ginger family of Mom Whiskey with Cinnamon, Nutmeg, Fudge and Toffee (thanks to our followers for such cool names❤), we have gorgeous mom Luna with her 3 little kittens Oreo and Jinx (Spotty "Ginger Spots" has been booked). Please also consider our adult cats awaiting adoption and the gorgeous moms too (once their kittens are ready), as they are just youngsters themselves🐈🐈‍⬛.
What is better than one kitten?...two💕!
Contact June on WhatsApp - 083 376 4175 - or Lee at the kennels on 046 622 3233 to arrange to meet the cats and kittens. After-hours visits can be organised.

A WARM WELCOME HOME FOR BLACKIE
Blackie's family were all present to welcome him home after his neutering this week. Blackie was less than enthusiastic about his ordeal 😂. Blackie's neutering was funded by the Good D.O.G. fund granted to the SPCA Grahamstown. Sterilization saves lives!

DSG SUPPORTS SPCA GRAHAMSTOWN🎁
Thank you to the DSG learners for the most wonderful donation of pet food received this morning with a very kind note and a lovely cash donation. There has been an influx of mom cats with kittens and we were needing to buy kitten food as the kittens move over to solids.
The DSG learners are regular visitors to the SPCA and all the animals look forward to their visits!
Thank you for your kindness and generosity🐾🐾.

KINGSWOOD COLLEGE "MAKE A DIFFERENCE" PROGRAMME
Kingswood College senior learners visited the SPCA Grahamstown today, undeterred by the wet weather🌧! The group, led by Head Boy, Abulele Mbanga, brought tinned and dry food for the animals, carrots and apples for the donkeys 🫏, as well as boxes of biscuits for the staff!
Thank you for thinking not only of our animals but our hardworking staff too!
Every week a group of Kingswood College learners visit the SPCA to spend time with the animals. This is so important for the wellbeing of our animals and we appreciate their visits very much!

GYPSY HAS BEEN ADOPTED🎉
Gypsy, the sweetest, kindest and most loyal little dog has been adopted and is now called Nala💕. In Swahili, Nala means 'queen', and we think she is most deserving of that name🤗.
Gypsy/Nala, was surrendered to the SPCA Grahamstown with a stubborn skin condition. She was the very first 🥇beneficiary of the Good D.O.G. fund, a top-up fund from Animal-Kind International, which covered her treatment costs.
Thank you to this amazing couple for adopting Nala - we couldn't be happier🙌.
And thank you to our incredible SPCA staff for their care of Nala during her stay at the SPCA Grahamstown.
