A word about Tommy โ heโs a rescue dog. This doesnโt mean Tommyโs broken or damaged, heโs just unsure of how to navigate the world. Showing great resilience in the face of โsink or swimโ that was his life before, now he needs to move on: to grow, to learn, to be a pet. Tommy came to rescue with no self-confidence and frightened of what he couldnโt understand but has made great progress. He has a keen nose, a switched-on brain and a huge heart. When he gets to put all those to good use heโs a very happy dog. He knows there are rules and the world is becoming much less of a scary place every day. He works hard for love and approvalโฆ and heโs not adverse to a treat either! Tommy likes rules and Tommy dislikes disapproval โ great qualities in any animal. He needs a quiet adult-only home that will provide a consistent routine and clear boundaries: this will make him feel safe and secure; it will help him make sense of his new after-kennels world. After the chaos he experienced before being rescued, moving to a new home will, by definition, leave him a bit uncertain, so some extra patience will be needed and post-adoption support will be offered. Only a few more more sleeps till we march to the river for some frozen fun! Meet at the market at 12h00 on Saturday and follow the crowd. Together we'll check if the river is frozen enough to play and afterwards we all hit Old Potters for some beers and lunch. Come have a good time and help us raise funds for GAWS. ๐๐โ๐ฆบ๐โโฌ

We beat our target of 60 sterilisations yesterday and treated a whopping 68 dogs and cats! Well done to the GAWS and EberVet team and thank you to the community for your support.
Every animal that gets sterilised helps us keep dozens more off our streets and lets us focus on the care of the dogs and cats we already have.
