Stone Creek Equestrian

Private equestrian yard owned & run by the Shaw family. Based in Hartbeespoort, North West Province.

We enable young people to learn the basics of how to ride and care for horses. We promote good horsemanship and encourage young riders to learn to build a relationship with an animal through trust and partnership. We do this by ensuring our facilities create a natural and nurturing environment for both horse and rider to ensure that they have successful futures in the sport.

We have been super busy over the past few weeks and they have really flown by.

Our riders competed in Sanesa Q3, with amazing results. They all qualified for finals in all their classes ❤️.

We welcomed the beautiful Ka-Ching and Omari to our yard. 🦄

We had a fun pony camp and night ride 🤩.

We did finals and again they were all superstars and have all qualified for nationals in September 🏆.

Jen and Kingston did us proud at Stokkies and KEP bringing home a couple of rosettes and Zoe and Athena competed at KEP and came 3rd 🎉.

We attended the HHCU charity event and won our bid for an amazing painting, and had the most amazing dinner. 🐮

We are now prepping for nationals and a couple of other shows and can’t wait to see how our girls do. 🤩

Well done to Zoe and Laurentia for their amazing results at Heartland. Athena was not able to jump because she bumped her knee, so at the last minute, we decided to take Laurentia. This was their first graded show together.

They had a fantastic weekend, coming home with a 5th, 6th and 3rd in the champs class. We could not be more proud of this combination!

We had an awesome Mother’s Day outing at Fourways yesterday and it was such a special day, doing what we love!

Our girls did so well.

Jess and Mouse got a 2nd and did their first 80cm show

Jordy and Rosetta got two 1st places, also doing their first 80cm show

Zoe and Laurentia did their first 70cm show and got 2 firsts and a third.

Christine and Challenge & Jen and Kingston had lovely clear rounds and Tammy decided to take Dancette at the last minute and had an oops in the first round but finished off with a stunning round.

It was great spending the day with our riding family.

Late post but we had an awesome day at Maple Ridge last Sunday. All 6 horses did lovely rounds. Zoe and Athena came home with 2 x 1st places. Rosie and Jordy got a 2nd, Chris and Challenge got 2x 1st places and Jen and Laurentia came 5th in their graded class.

We were so busy so we didn’t get too many pics but Christine managed to snap this one at the end of a long, hot but very successful day 🤩

Back into the swing of things for 2024. Very busy three weeks with an awesome outride, Fourways and Maple Ridge shows (5 first places in 6 classes) lots of lessons, physio sessions for all our horses and lots of cuddles after the holidays.

When we are in the middle of a heatwave. Put the sprinklers on, hop on bareback and have the time of your life 😂.

We are so proud of Carla and Gally, they had a very unlucky start with a bridle malfunction and a horrible fall where Gally tripped and flipped over soon after he arrived. Understandably Carla lost confidence with her cantering and jumping. Carla was determined he was her heart horse and refused to consider selling him, even when we thought it might be a good option since he is a very forward and sensitive little man and can get quite strong when he jumps. She never gave up on her boy and worked so hard on her confidence and on keeping her hands soft and still. The two of them have formed an amazing bond and have learnt to trust each other and are now starting to show what they are capable of. We can’t wait to see what the future holds for this pair! Determination and hard work always pays off ⭐️.
