Just outside JHB, we offer horse rides through nature for beginners/ intermediate/ advanced riders. Livery also available on request.

We offer horse riding lessons and/ or outrides through nature for beginners/ intermediate/ advanced riders on our 200 hectare farm with glorious landscapes to explore. We are situated 45 minutes south of Johannesburg, a quick skip from the N3 highway.

*ANNOUNCEMENT - OPEN FOR BUSINESS!*

We are delighted to let you know we are open for spectacular outrides once again!

*(1) BEGINNERS OUTRIDES*
One hour outrides *@ R500.00/ person*

Notes:
> This ride is for BEGINNERS only - you will be assisted with lead rein.
> Rides are at a walk only.
> Rides are twice monthly, over a Saturday or Sunday.
> We take a minimum of two riders and a maximum of four riders
> Please DM us if you are keen on our first offering

*(2) INTERMEDIATE OUTRIDES*
One and a half hour outrides *@ R800/person*

Notes:
> This ride is for INTERMEDIATE riders only
> Rides are at a walk and trot
> Riders are expected to have ridden several times prior, ideally with some formal training
> Riders will demonstrate level of ability in the ring before coming on the ride
> Riders must demonstrate good communication with their horses and be able to maintain control during the ride
> Rides are twice monthly, over a Saturday or Sunday.
> We take a minimum of two riders and a maximum of five riders
> Please DM us if you are keen on our second offering

*(3) ADVANCED OUTRIDES*
One and a half hour outrides *@ R800/person*
Two hour outrides *@ R950/person*

Notes:
> This ride is for ADVANCED riders only
> Rides are at a walk, trot, canter.
> If he group is strong enough there is an opportunity to gallop as well.
> Riders are expected to have ridden regularly for 3 years or more.
> Riders should have had some formal training
> Riders will demonstrate level of ability in the ring before coming on the ride
> Riders must demonstrate excellent communication with their horses and be able to maintain control during the ride, at all paces
> Rides are twice monthly, over a Saturday or Sunday.
> We take a minimum of two riders and a maximum of five riders
> Please DM us if you are keen on our third offering

Horse trail rides & livery on offer

Bushwillow Stables is situated on a 300 hectare farm in Heidelberg, just 45 minutes drive from Johannesburg.

TRAIL RIDES

We offer horse trail rides of 90 minutes to three hours in length, to intermediate and advanced riders. The rides take you through beautiful rolling hills and ‘koppies’, where a variety of game such as eland and zebra roam free. These rides can be booked for mornings or afternoons, during both the week and weekends.

And yes, we love our horses! They are well trained and kept in top condition. We will select the most appropriate horse for your level and will test you and the horse out in the riding lesson ring before we head out.
