Yesterday was washing day at paws and purrs rescue!!!
Without have a water supply or electricity this means that washing day really is quite the challenge!!!
First we collect water in 25L drums from one of the neighbouring farms then we warm up the water in the gas kettle on a gas bottle once we have enough water in our wash bucket then we start washing all blankets, towels and jerseys etc this process takes from 7am to 3pm.

Dear friends and supporters,
We want to apologize for our silence over the past few weeks. We’ve been incredibly busy here at Paws and Purrs with several challenges that have required our full attention.
Firstly, we’ve been managing a snuffles outbreak among our 50+ cats and providing medical treatment to all of them. On top of this, we have welcomed three pregnant moms who are due any day now.
In preparation for the big fires expected in August, we’ve been creating firebreaks to protect our animals. While our team has received extensive training on making firebreaks and extinguishing fires, we still need the proper clothing and equipment to ensure everyone’s safety. The clothing alone will cost us R13,000, and we would greatly appreciate any help in acquiring these items 🙏.
Water has been another significant struggle. Our farm has two 5000L JoJo tanks, but we need to find a way to fill them. We have one tap and pump for one tank, but the other tank lacks a tap. Any suggestions or assistance in solving our water issues would be immensely helpful.
Keeping up with the food supply for our animals is also a challenge. We need dog food, cat food, and pig food. Additionally, we now have two beautiful roosters 🐓 that need our care.
We are still working on completing the fencing for our catteries to ensure the safety of our cats.
Despite these difficulties, we are dedicated to keeping all our animals fed, healthy, and sheltered, especially with the negative temperatures we’re currently experiencing.

We received these 5 starving puppies and their mother last late last night!! We couldn’t say no!!!! Please help us get them and mom healthy! We need to test them for Parvo (R250 a test) we need to deworm, tick and flea treatments. And we need puppy milk and royal canin puppy mousse!!! Please please help us our funds are depleted and these babies need our help!!!
If we order directly from Royal Canin we get a tray of 12 puppy mousses for R500. And we can get the puppy milk at cost price.

We got a call this morning about 5 unwanted puppies in Tshepisong. So we went straight out to fetch them! They look to be between 3/4 weeks of age. We need to give them puppy milk and puppy mousse. From Royal canin
