Wow, Doggy’s Delight is in the finals for the best pet service providers in Hermanus. What a honour ❤️

The votes are in and we have our finalists for the Vote Local competition. The winners will feature in the 10 September edition of Local Life.

In this issue of Local Life, read the second part of our FCJ (mis)adventure which continued to provide us with fits of laughter (more the kind that borders on disbelief and floods of tears).

It made for an incomparable experience but we definitely don’t have any travelling plans on the horizon!

As we step into September, we will once more be enjoying the Hermanus First Fridays Artwalk – a lovely evening spent visiting participating galleries, admiring artworks, and meeting artists. We hope to see you there.

It’s only day 3 of our donation drive in support of HAWS, but look at that … 200 kg of dog and cat food and lots of warm, thick blankets and beds.
This all will go to HAWS tomorrow before the cold front hits on the weekend. 🥶
Of course we will continue collecting donations, so please don’t hesitate to come around to bring your share.

HELP IS NEEDED
The recent eviction of Paradise Park residents has had a profound impact on the well-being of their pets, leading to an unprecedented influx of animals at the Hermanus Animal Welfare Society (HAWS).
They are overwhelmed and need our support urgently.
Therefore I decided to move our regular donation drive forward and hopefully our “Christmas in July” will find your support. Please come around any time during my business hours (Tuesday-Saturday 08:00-18:00) and drop off cat or dog food, blankets, beds etc.
Every little bit helps.
Please, open your hearts and help me in my support of HAWS.

Uncooked dough containing yeast can be extremely dangerous for your furry friends. Here’s what you need to know:

Expanding continues: When dogs eat uncooked dough, the yeast causes the dough to continue rising inside their warm and moist stomach. This can lead to bloating and severe discomfort, and can be life-threatening.

Alcohol Toxicity: As yeast ferments, it produces alcohol which can lead to alcohol poisoning in dogs. This can cause symptoms like disorientation, vomiting, and even respiratory failure.

🛑 What to Do:

Keep all forms of unbaked dough out of reach from your pets. Bread and pizza dough are dangerous to your pet.

If you suspect your dog has ingested dough, contact your vet immediately. This is a medical emergency and quick response can be crucial.

What to expect?
Emmi-Pet generates ultrasound with a patented ultrasonic microchip that is embedded inside the brush head. This chip creates up to 84 million ultrasonic impulses per minute. In combination with a special nano-bubble toothpaste giving your pet a superior cleaning.
