We are so excited for the annual Pick N Pay Bowls for Charity Event and this year, our Non-Profit Corporation, African Dream Make A Difference Foundation, will be the beneficiary alongside our good friends from Hoedspruit Paws 🐾

Wildlife stunning and so close (BIG 5, mammals, birds, reptiles, trees & flowers), funtastic choice of horses and riding options, attentive & knowledgeable staff, perfect climate, challenging & thought provoking too.

We enjoyed seeing the beautiful Pixie Pan female on game drive this morning.

In picture number 4 you can see just how well leopards blend in to their environment which makes it so much more exciting when we do spot a one on a drive! 🌱

Let’s introduce the new horses here at ADHS😍

1st photo: Ragnar
Ragner is a big, strong horse with a gentle and kind nature. He arrived with us a few months ago and joined the team with his magnificent carriage straight away. Ragner has so much strength and adapts to each rider with trust and a willingness to work. We are so excited to have him in our team.

2nd photo: Nutmeg
Nutmeg is a stocky, solid girl who has such a big personality. She came with Ragnar and has just shown us how much she can give to both novice and advanced riders. She is the sweetest horse with so much to give.

3rd photo: Sky
Sky is a young thoroughbred who joined us a month ago. She is a gentle and kind horse with so much potential and has fitted into the team perfectly. We are so excited for her journey with us.

4th photo: Comet
Comet joined African Dream a few years ago but was sent to a farm to have some down time after his life in a racing yard. He is back better than ever and we are so happy to have him back in the team. Comet is a very sweet boy who just wants to give his best for his rider.

5th photo: Trix
Trix was owned by a young rider at African Dream and has now joined our team. He is a small, feisty pony with so much energy and is loved by all the riders as he is so much fun and keeps the ride exciting with his big personality

6th photo: Spirit
Spirit is a young mare who has a huge personality and is still learning the ropes. She has come on in leaps and bounds and is always game for everything even if she is not sure of the plan. We are excited for her future with us at African Dream.

7th photo: Gabby
Gabby is a small pony with a huge heart and is back at African Dream. We are absolutely loving this feisty mare and she is showing us just how fantastic she is with her huge jump and fun canter rides.

8th photo: Mini
Mini is a tall thoroughbred and competed with Traci but now is part of the African Dream team. She is a big horse with a big personality and an even bigger heart. She always tries to please her rider and is a sensitive horse so teaches the rider to be soft.

Job Title: Field Guide / Volunteer Coordinator

We are looking for an enthusiastic, passionate, fun, and dedicated candidate to join our team!

Requirements
• FGASA Level 1 Qualification
• Valid PDP License
• C1 Drivers Licence (Old Code 10)
• Equestrian experience added bonus

Included:
• Accommodation (Shared)
• Three meals per day

Tasks include:
• Conducting game drives in a Big 5 reserve
• Conducting bush walks in a non-big 5 reserve
• Take volunteers on outings/excursions
• Airport collections and drop-off’s

Work Cycle
• 3 Weeks On / 1 Week Off

Probation Period:
• Three months

Salary
• Basic + Commission (to be discussed)

Start date:
• Immediately

We had a very sad morning saying goodbye to our beautiful Pick Up! 💔

He was such a special part of African Dream and although he spent his last few years as a retired old man, there was a time where he was flying around the jumping arena with wild children, carefully teaching little kids to ride for the first time in the lunge ring, or a reliable pony for birthday parties, pony rides, and pony camps! 🥰

For such a little guy, he sure is going to leave a very big hole in our hearts and the stables ❤️
