🎄As Christmas approaches, we at HALO would love to take a moment to honour the incredible people who dedicate their days to caring for the dogs in our rural communities around Hoedspruit. Rushman (right) and Ethiel (left) have worked tirelessly this year, on a small stipend basis, driven not by compensation but by compassion.🎄
Rushman’s family is spending their first Christmas without his sister, who passed away earlier this year, leaving behind three young children under the age of 10.
And Ethiel, a devoted father to his 6-year-old daughter and 19-year-old son, continues to help in camp whenever he can, giving his time and heart to the animals and community.
As we are a 100% transparent NGO, our funds are allocated to the dogs, we do not have budget for proper renumeration, let alone a bonus or presents. We would be deeply grateful for the support of our wider community in helping us give something back to them: whether it’s a food parcel, children’s clothing, or a small toy that can bring a smile during the festive season.
Every gesture, big or small, makes a meaningful difference. Thank you for standing with us, for caring and for helping us show our appreciation to those who give so much.
