We did our monthly steri clinic for yesterday and at the end of the day were working to this amazing sound! Debbie managed to video a little, turn up your sound.

We started the day with a cat, followed by 16 dogs. They were all such loved animals and again we had curious owners who wanted to watch and learn. What a lovely animal loving community Funda Nenja has nurtured.

Another 18 dogs sterilised in Mpophomeni this month! Thank you for the regular monthly steri clinic's ensuring healthy happy dogs.

We had a few very interested little boys on Saturday, so Dr Lee and Debbie took the opportunity to explain the procedure and allowed them to observe. We are sure it will be something they will remember and tell their friends about.

VERY IMPORTANT

Please make sure all your pets rabies vaccinations are up to date. It is worth checking their books as time goes so quickly, you can't believe it is a year since you did it.

Welbedacht is a poor community near Chatsworth where help the animals with feeding schemes and veterinary care. They called us to do a steri clinic for cats. Over the 2 days we sterilised 61 cats, they were also vaccinated for rabies.

On Saturday we set up in a church and Sunday on someone's front porch. Well done to Shabnam and her volunteers for trapping cats and ensuring many more kittens are saved from a life on the street.

We had an audience of small boys on Sunday, so Dr Lee took the opportunity to educate them on what we were doing. They were scared of cats, but she managed to convince them to stroke a cat that was under anesthetic.

We had our monthly steri clinic in Mpophomeni for on Saturday where another 11 dogs and 1 cat were sterilised.

The first patient of the day had a very attentive little owner. It was so sweet to see his concern and interest in the proceedings. He watched every step of the way. We encourage education and are pleased to explain to the owners what is being done.

Thank you to the volunteers and Funda Nenja staff for another succesful clinic.

**We are moving!!**

As from Monday 1 July our rooms will run out of the 's facility.

A message from Dr Lee. "I have been volunteering at the SPCA 3 days a week for the last few months and it has become quite an ordeal working out of 2 clinics, so the solution is to amalgamate the 2 clinics. Our telephone number will remain the same. Looking forward to seeing you in our new clinic."

Following on from our last post, we had one day to regroup and sterlise all equiptment and surgical instruments before heading down to Ballito. had booked us for a 3 day steri clinic in the Tongaat area, but due to the devestating tornado we were unable to set up there and so one of their volunteers had offered their garage for us to work in. The following 2 days were based at the Dolphin Coast Pre-Primary. 32 dogs and 10 cats were brought through for sterilisation over the 3 days, bringing the total animals for the week to 105!

Thank you to Mozambik Ballito for sponsoring our meal on Friday night, and to all the Sables volunteers for your hard work and for accomodating us. Another succesful clinic complete. Now for a week of r & r.

We have had a busy few days starting with our monthly steri clinic for on Saturday where 17 dogs and 1 cat were sterilised. We then enjoyed the 1000 Paws walk for SPCA on Sunday where Dr Lee was the vet on duty.

We then headed off in Matilda on Monday morning in the rain to Underberg for a 3 day steri campaign for . We were at a different venue each day, covering the Underberg/Himeville area. Many dogs and cats were vaccinated and 24 dogs and 21 cats sterilised.

Thank you to all the welfare organisations we work with for the amazing work you do.

We helped out at a mass steri clinic at St Michaels on the South Coast last weekend. What a lot of different organisations got involved, so much can be achieved when people work together. If you have ever driven around Margate, Uvongo, St Mike's in the evening, you will be astounded at the number of feral cats around!

We managed to sterilise 121 feral cats, as well as helped a cat that had a septic wound that was cleaned and stitched, and ended the suffering of a cat that had lived with a broken tail that had gone necrotic.

We also tried to help out with trapping, but after mistrapping 2 or 3 cats, decided to leave it to the experts.

We wish Neeri a very happy birthday. Thank you for everything you do for the animals that cross your path.

Neeri turns 21 on the 19th of April!

(40 actually but shhhh)

And in true Neeri style, her way of celebrating her birthday is

1. Making sure everyone knows it's her birthday month
2. Hosting a sh!tload of steri clinics. That's one of thee most important causes she fights for.

If you would like to Celebrate Neeri, and honor her birthday wish, please donate on the link below so she can Sterilize as many cats and dogs and puppies and kittens she can get her hands on!

UPDATE: 👏Thank you to those special people who contributed making more possible! Our fuel fund has been met.💚💚

Don't forget that the organisations travelling in are NOT paid for their time and effort. They have organised their OWN accommodation AND meals. The ONLY thing they are asking us to help cover are their fuel costs. MOST of these ladies and gents don't even live on the South Coast but are prepared to come and help us who live here.

What's NEXT➡️➡️➡️TRUDIE’S CATS....and we NEED YOUR HELP⚠️

In May we are holding a weekend spayathon where we will be targeting 80 cats from the Shelly Beach to Margate areas. This will be a multi-organisation effort with TAWI (Transkei Animal Welfare Initiative) and Phoenix Animal Care & Treatment joining us.

The Sterilisations have been sponsored by Glenda Fawbert "From Tassie with Love" NPO and Mandy Lu from LET'S SPAY . Our vet teams are getting ready, Midmar Vet clinic, Dr Lee Pachonic & Port Edward Vet Dr. Dave Watson.

All we need now is some funding for fuel to help bring everyone down here. PACT come with traps and manpower as it takes a small army to catch this many cats over one weekend and we need vet teams to tackle this many steries in such a short period of time.

We had a very busy weekend in Phoenix doing our monthly steri clinic for . There was an unfortunate end to the day on Saturday when one of the dogs being transported to us to be sterilsed jumped off the back of the open bakkie she was travelling in. When she got to us we sedated her and only when we got her on the table and took off the material "bandages" the family had put on, could we see the extent of the damage. Unfortunately one of her back legs was badly broken and she had lacerations on both back legs. Dr Lee cleaned up the wounds and then bandaged both legs and splinted the broken one as they were unable to get the dog to the vets for x-rays until Sunday. She also administered antibiotics and pain meds.

We then did the cats on Sunday and I think every female cat in Phoenix was brought through! We sterilised 25 females and 11 males.

We were allowed a lunchbreak where very delicious breyani was shared. Thank you once again for making such a difference in Phoenix.
