This is so impressive, its almost like hydroponics on paving! I'd love to know what liquid concoction they have in the bin.
We have a paved area between 2 sheds and are going to give this a try...
This little guy has clearly not heard that dogs can't contract Corona Virus... π
It's not just humans that love our amazing farm chicken.... π
Early morning on the farm....
The Olive Thrush sounds as if he is desperately calling for "Ricky-Ricky" and the low clouds in the valley look like an ocean between our home and the city.
So blessed to have my first coffee out here every day β
How cool is this?
Laurence and I both owned "Volksies" when we were starting out. Mine was a bright pink Baja Bug and Laurence's was a manly red and stainless steel. ππ
We would definitely love to have this upgrade....
Lunar Potatoes?! - full moon is the perfect time to plant potatoes. π
The full moon causes moisture in the soil to rise; and as light and energy decreases with the waning moon thereafter sap is drawn down focusing energy towards roots.πππ
So today our first 100 seed potatoes were planted....and my Rhode Islands were scratching around in the freshly turned soil in a flash!
I hope this little guy makes you smile and warms your heart a little like he did mine.
Have a positive week - make time for a little fun.... and plant something. ππ±
We found this crazy looking worm in our garden today, any idea what he is? He has a crazy paddle shaped head. π³
Our special baby Gru
We have named this little guy Gru, after the Despicable Me character... he has the shortest neck and strangest walk... he looks beyond funny, but is such a happy, friendly chap. He is always the first out of the coup in the morning to enjoy a snack from my hand before I feed the others...
Happy birdies get to go outside
At 20 days our broilers move from the brood to their free range coup. I never tire of watching them peck at the grass and scratch for ants for the first time.
Our eggs are from our Rhode Island Red flock. They have free run of the farm, and live almost entirely off the land. Their coup is never closed, so they come and go as they please - they often take an afternoon siesta in there when its hot, and they are up and out really early - I love waking up to the sound of the hens scratching and chatting away outside my bedroom window.
