The animals in this Photo Album, are animals found as strays and brought into our Johannesburg shelter. They will be kept for a period of 14 days as a stray. Should they not be claimed by their rightful owners during this time, they will then be placed up for adoption. All animals will remain with us as long as possible. Please contact us at 011 435 0672 or email [email protected].

Photos in this album are taken of the stray animals as soon as they arrive at our premises. This is to enable the owners to hopefully identify their pets immediately. All animals will be groomed as soon as possible.

2024 AACL-JHB “KIND CUP” Floating Trophy for Primary Schools awarded to Rand Park Primary and Bedfordview Primary
The AACL-Johannesburg has awarded Rand Park Primary & Bedfordview Primary (sharing) their “Kind Cup” floating trophy for 2024.

This award originated in 2001 and is annually presented to a school that has demonstrated the highest level of support and commitment to the AACL-JHB during the past year.

Bedfordview Primary donated their annual pet food collection drive to the AACL-Johannesburg. Learners enthusiastically supported the cause, went the extra mile, and an impressive amount of pet food (4 bakkie loads) was handed over to the AACL JHB. Congratulations and thank you once again!

Rand Park Primary hosted the ‘Kindness in a Tin” Small Change Collection Drive twice in 2024 and collected the outstanding total amount of R9361 in their collection tins. The school has further been supporting this project for many years. We appreciate your hard work and kindness.

A school’s support can unquestionably make a huge difference in the lives of the hundreds of needy animals in the AACL-JHB’s care, and we’d like to encourage and invite schools to get involved with pet food collection and the “Kindness in a Tin” Small change collection drives in 2025!
