A year ago, we embarked on the Afero Boerboels journey, and let's just say it has been a year of intense learning. We faced setbacks, losing precious breeding females and experiencing the heartbreak of losing most of our first litter. These challenges tested our resolve, reminding us that passion and unwavering dedication are the cornerstones of success.

We've learned that true greatness in breeding lies not in the number of dogs, but in the exceptional quality of each individual. We've come to understand that while owning outstanding dogs is crucial, it's only the beginning. Breeding is a complex art, requiring deep knowledge of the breed, careful line selection, and a nurturing environment.

Moving forward, we're embracing a more focused approach, scaling back to prioritize quality over quantity. This will allow us to devote our full attention to the intricate details of breeding, ensuring our Boerboels align with the highest breed standards.

We're also deeply immersed in studying Estimated Breeding Values, a powerful tool that will guide us in making informed decisions and further enhancing our breeding program.

Today, one of our senior dogs, Elevation Minki passed away. This lady showed us the signiture affection and loyalty found in this breed. She would always greet you by extending her paw for you to hold and sit there as if having a deep conversation. At the same time she had a protective instinct, always ready to protect her territory from unfamiliar presence! Thank you Minki for the fun times, and the contribution to Afero, we shall miss you dearly!.
