Another reason why to have your horses teeth floated atleast once a year. No matter if they are top competitors or garden ornaments. They all deserve a good dental check. This poor retired fella will be feeling a lot happier with those nasty hooks and ramps reduced.

6. Another happy client. She got a new horse in and he had the sweetest personality.
Unfortunately, he was not very kind under saddle and refused to move forward and would start acting up. They decided to rather leave him and get his teeth checked.
Upon findings his teeth were shocking and he had a blind wolf tooth.
After sorting it out and taking out the wolftooth he had a weeks rest and they got back on.
He instantly changed after just having his teeth done, no other treatment was done to first rule out teeth as a possible cause
The proof is in the videos. Please watch. Before video. After video will be in a seperate post

5. A new rescue of my client came in and the first thing we noticed is how her jaw was completely locked. This was due to have a bit of an underjet and a very big diagonal(skew) bite.
This caused her to not use the one side of her mouth properly and caused a shear mouth at the back.

4. This horse had not had dental care for most of his life. The owner decided to get his teeth looked at after she could not get weight on him.
Unfortunately he had 2 big fractures, where the one was embedded in his cheek tgat could be felt from the outside.

2. One of my clients got a new horse in, as she tried to get a bit in she got a big shock. This horse was standing on a farm with no routine dental care.
He was very skinny and understandably why.
He will take another treatment to get the front teeth even as we were getting close to pulp and had to unfortunately stop reducing.

What a busy December it has been. Will be posting some of our interesting cases of the month.
1. A horse that has been done 6 monthly by someone else, unfortunately they never did the front teeth and this caused a nasty over growth. This caused the horse not to be able to excurd to the one side, leading to muscle atrophy and a shear mouth, trying to compensate for chewing on that side.
He will take another treatment in 6 months to perfectly realign.

This horse had retained baby teeth (caps), that pushed his permanent backwards. With no opposing tooth wearing it down it made some nasty hooks. Excited to see him again in 6 months to see how how far the permanent teeth moved back into place.
These hooks restricts the horses natural movement in the jaw to move back and forth.

Nothing more satisfying, than pulling out such long wolfteeth. I am sure this horse is going to feel a lot better and happier with the bit. Scary to think only about 1mm of these we exposed above the gum.

We had a lot of interesting cases last week and what a busy week it was. Thank you to all my amazing clients for your support! 💕

Here is a horse that was constantly shaking her head and twisting her jaw and head. I think we can see why. Her poor jaw was completely offset due to her skew front teeth.

This old girly is a reminder of why it is just as important to take care of your horses front teeth as it is to do the back.
Her jaw was unfortunately not able to move side to side, due to her front teeth getting stuck in each other.

She is feeling a lot better

It has been a verg busy few months. Thank you to all my amazing clients for your support. Without you we wouldn’t be able to do what we love. Helping such awesome animals.

Here are 2 interesting cases. The first is a horse with some overgrown incisors(parrot mouth) before and after.
Second is a horse with a shear mouth, this is where one side of the horses mouth is at a steeper angle than the other side. She had some nasty cuts and food packing from sharpness.

Sometimes I am just at a loss for words. This poor horse had a big swollen cheek on the outside and we can clearly see why. The cheek was so badly cut on the inside from sharp points that have embedded themselves in the tissue that it caused an infection. The tongue also had deep lacerations from nasty sharp edges

This is why it is so important to have your horses teeth done atleast once a year by a qualified EDT. This poor girl was chewing away at her bottom gum with every chew and every movement of the jaw. Giving a lot of riding issues, I am sure we can see why. She will be feeding a lot better! Yes, there were bottom teeth under those nasty ramps
