Dog Treat 🐶
Chicken & Rice Dog Treats 🦴
INGREDIENTS
1 cup cooked chicken breast, shredded
1 cup cooked brown rice
1/2 cup cooked sweet potatoes, mashed
1/4 cup peas, cooked and mashed
1 large egg
1 tbsp fresh parsley, chopped (optional)
1/4 cup low-sodium chicken broth (unsalted, no onions)
1/4 cup oat flour (for binding)
INSTRUCTIONS
1. Preheat your oven to 175°C and line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the shredded chicken, cooked brown rice, mashed sweet potatoes, and mashed peas.
3. In a separate bowl, whisk the egg and fresh parsley if you’re using it. Then add the egg mixture to the chicken and rice mixture and mix thoroughly.
4. Gradually add the low-sodium chicken broth to the mixture, stirring until you have a moist, cohesive mixture.
5. Begin forming the mixture into small, bite-sized balls. If the mixture is too wet, add oat flour a little at a time to help bind it.
6. Place the formed balls on the prepared baking sheet.
7. Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 20 minutes, or until the balls are firm and lightly browned.
8. Allow the chicken and rice balls to cool before serving.
These flavourful treats will have your pup's tail wagging with each bite! 💛

Here are five tips for moving a dog to a new home:1. Maintain a familiar routine: As much as possible, stick to your dog’s regular feeding, walking, and playtime schedule during and after the move. Consistency will help them feel more secure in their new environment.2. Create a safe space: Set up a designated area in your new home with your dog’s bed, toys, and familiar items. This safe space will give them a sense of comfort and familiarity amidst the new surroundings.3. Gradual introduction to the new home: Allow your dog to explore the new home gradually. Start with one room and slowly introduce them to other areas. This step-by-step approach can help reduce anxiety and prevent overwhelming your pet.4. Pet-proof the new home: Before bringing your dog in, ensure that the new home is safe and secure for them. Remove any hazardous items or potential escape routes, and check that fences and gates are in good condition.5. Spend quality time together: Amidst the unpacking and settling in, make sure to spend quality time with your dog. Engage in activities they enjoy, take them for walks around the neighborhood, and provide lots of affection to reassure them.Remember, patience and understanding are key during this transition. Some dogs may adjust quickly, while others may take more time. Be there for your furry friend, and they’ll soon feel at home in their new environment.
