Please be prepared for fireworks on Sunday 31 December 2023:

Get stress/anxiety medication for your dog and give it to them early enough (feed in a sausage or other treat).

Ensure they have their dog collor, with microchip tag and name/nr tag.

Get them new toys or a chew snack so they can be distracted (cow hooves filled with peanut butter works great).

Put on a TV or radio to help with a little bit distraction in the house.

Ensure all escape areas are properly secured and gates are closed and locked.

🐺 Husky Fun Fact*

Huskies clean themselves much like cats do. By design, their double coats help keep them clean and it protects them from many parasites and sunburn. They also are typically free from body odor, so no 'wet dog' smells here...

However, they don't mind getting wet and dirty as they LOVE digging and rearranging your garden!

Good day husky parents!

Please be prepared this festive season with regards to going on holiday and fireworks on New Year's Eve.

Here is a few tips to ensure your husky is safe and comfortable:

🐺 Get stress/anxiety medication from your vet and give it to them as needed (feed in a sausage or other treat).

🐺 Ensure they are wearing their dog collar, with microchip tag and name/nr tag.

🐺Ensure the collar fits properly and doesn't slip off easily.

🐺Please ensure your dog's Micro Chip information is updated on Virbac Back Home.

🐺 Get them new toys or a chewy snack so they can be distracted, cow hooves filled with peanut butter works great.

🐺 Put on a TV or radio to help with a little bit distraction in the house, especially during loud noises.

🐺Ensure all escape areas (doors, windows and gates) are properly secured.

🐺 If you are camping or taking your dog in the bush, ensure they are protected against parasites. NexGuard or Bravecto chews works very good.

The reality of grooming a Siberian Husky or any double coated dog...
As huskies are not allowed to be shaven, it takes a lot of time, patience and elbow grease to get the fur out, especially during shedding season!
I am so thankful for Ida and her team from Western Doggy Saloon for always putting in extra effort with my pack and giving me back show dogs.
Ida, I really appreciate your love for my dogs and they enjoy the TLC as well! Thank you 🐺
