“You’re so expensive”
Well, actually no. You just can’t afford me. And, that’s ok.
BUT.. here’s a little run down of why us dog groomers are more expensive than a hairdresser (are we though 🤔)
1) well obviously, size.. your head vs your dogs body. Even the smallest dogs have more hair than the average human head. Do the maths!
2) have you ever decided to get up and bounce in your chair when you’re having your hair cut? Ever spun round and jumped on your hair dressers shoulders.. I can guarantee you, your dog has!
3) hygiene areas. Yep, those areas. Not included in your hair cut but expected when it comes to your dog 😳
4) your little buddy is so cute but they are also a moving target and we have blades. Sharp blades. The anxiety is real and we need reflexes like a ninja 🥷
5) Your dog has a bath 🛁 a proper bath, with two shampoos at least, plus conditioner on many occasions. I think your hair dresser would be worried if you sat in the sink!
6) Last time you went to the salon, did you ask the hairdresser to cut your nails? Toes too? Nope… well it’s pretty much expected when your dog comes in!
7) Feeling a bit angry? Obviously biting your hairdresser would be frowned upon. Dog bites the groomer = occupational hazard 🙄
8) 💩 - I think I’ve said enough. Ever left one on the floor at your hair salon. Thought not.
So as you can see, us groomers are pretty amazing and we are worth every penny.
This is why it is so important to choose your breed carefully and not buy a poodle cross/ long haired clipped breed/ wool coat unless you know you can afford 6-8 weekly grooms.
