It's the end of another week, but it's #Dezemba and that means more weekend tomorrow!
This week has been momentous for us - something that has been a dream for over a year, finally came to fruition and we have our huge area fenced off for the dogs to run. They get to experience the freedom of running off-lead in a safe place. Thank you Knysna Municipality for making this possible!
A scaredy cat, called Juno, has been safely coaxed out of her shell - thanks to her foster mama for working so hard to make sure she knows she is safe and loved.
We received a massive donation of food from Knysna Superspar - thank you for always thinking of us. It's really going to help over the Christmas season.
Our Colour Run is in full swing - join us next Sunday at Totties Country Market for some holiday fun. Tickets can be booked online here https://www.quicket.co.za/events/293978-kaws-colour-run/#/
There will be very limited tickets available on the day so make sure you book your spot!
We have had another great number of adoptions. Thor, Blossom, Bluebell, Maria, Pablo, Felix and Maggie all found their forever homes. Louis and Katie went to the most incredible foster to adopt home together. Peanut and Lilly also went to their forever homes, as did Callan who will be making his way to East London.
We know it's a hectic time of year for everyone. We are so grateful for all the faces who pop in to wish us a happy festive season, who drop by to give just a little something to the animals for Christmas.
If you are still looking for a stocking filler, don't forget our KAWS Calendar that is for sale at several outlets all over. They are only R100!
Watch out for our Christmas Wishlist that we will post later this week, if you are looking to donate but not sure what we need.
You can also sponsor a sterilization (R350) or Kennel (R400) for an animal in need - what a great Christmas gift for the person who has everything.
We wish you all a safe festive season. We don't take m
Jules having his first swim at his new home.
Chaplin is having a ball in his forever home.
Here's why you need two cats.
The countdown to the Leisure Isle Festival has begun! Our KAWS shop manager and volunteers have been busy packing, pricing and getting things ready for the KAWS stall. We can't wait to see you there.
Here's a sneak preview of a few of the items available for sale.

Give your cat some catnip and put a smile on your face this gloomy Monday.
If you don't have a cat, our silliest ginger DON is available for adoption, so you can have smiles in your home every day.

If you are struggling to get through the week, here is a little snippet of some of our dogs at KAWS that will hopefully put a smile on your dial!
We often hear that people don't come to rescue centres because they feel it's too sad - hopefully this video shows that there is a lot of happiness around at KAWS.
The pooches (not the humans) in this video are all up for adoption.
Love kittens, but aren't able to adopt? Why not foster!
You need to work from home or be at home for a good part of the day. You'll need a separate room that's easy to clean, where they will be safe from any other animals.
If you are able to help, please Whatsapp Belinda on 082 767 0847 to find out more.

It's #WelcomeWednesday yet again. We have so many new faces to introduce...
Sadly, the number of strays and surrendered animals far outweighs the adoptions we are having at the moment, which means we are full, full, full. Please, consider opening your homes to another furry friend. We really need to up our adoptions so that we can save more animals.
POPPY is 8 months old, she is a little shy at first but loves playing.
MATILDA was surrendered to us after we sponsored her sterilisation. When we went to drop her back at home, her owners said they didn't want her any more. She is very affectionate and starts 'baking biscuits' as soon as you look at her.
CLOUD is also a surrender. He is a large lad who loves to chat and cuddle. He has a big head and tiny ears and is a sweetheart.
SHOP CAT grew up in a shop in town. She was surrendered because her owners 'didn't need her anymore'. She has the world's saddest eyes. She is terrified of the loud barking from the dogs, so could do with a quiet and safe space to call her own.
AXLE was bought from some homeless people at the dump. He is about 12 weeks old and will be medium sized when fully grown. He is not a Jack Russel.
GUS was found as a stray (we are amazed how often such small puppies go walkabout). He is thw sweetest and softest natured boy. He will likely be large when fully grown.
MERCEDES & ENZO are a brother and sister pair who have been with us for a month already, but they had so much healing to do before they could be placed up for adoption. They arrived completely covered in car oil, a frequent 'remedy' for mange. It doesn't do anything except burn their eyes and skin...
They now have full and healthy coats and can be homed at last
To adopt any of these precious loves, please Whatsapp Belinda on 082 767 0847 or complete the application forms here:
