Brazos dwarf Crayfish (Cambarellus texanus)
Brazos dwarf crayfish is a miniature aquarium crayfish with a feisty but non aggressive personality. They are such a great addition to any aquarium with smaller fish and shrimp.
Brazos dwarf crayfish is the smaller cousin of the Mexican dwarf crayfish. The Brazos crayfish reach maximum size of 3cm whereas the Mexican crayfish get to about 5cm.
Unlike the Mexican more aggressive crays the Brazos are not aggressive at all and get along with most tank mates including shrimp. They are also not destructive when it comes to plants.
The Brazos crayfish’s colours may vary due to natural variations of the crayfish. Unlike the Mexican crays that are bred in different specific colours the Brazos females will only show their true colour when grown. The males have a consistent look. See pictures for different colour variations.
