Where should a puppy sleep at night?

We recommend at least having them in your bedroom with you in the beginning in either a dog bed or crate. Having your puppy in your bedroom with you will make them feel more reassured. Then, you can gradually move them to where you would like them to sleep permanently.

When to switch from puppy food to adult food?

Small breeds can make the switch at 7 to 9 months; bigger breeds at 12, 13, even 14 months. Err on the side of caution: Better to be on puppy food a little too long than not long enough. After age 1: Most owners feed adult dogs two half-portions a day.

We personally (Bethesda) give puppy food until 12-14 months of age, it all depends on the dog itself.
Then we change their food to adult food.

What is the best age to get a puppy?

8-10 weeks:
They learn social skills, and are ready for consistent human interaction. By the start of their second month of life, puppies are developing emotions. And at 6-8 weeks old, they start forming attachments to humans.
In general, however, the best age to adopt a puppy is 8 to 10 weeks. This will give your puppy plenty of time to work through the developmental stages that take place while the puppy is still with its mother. At 8 weeks, they can be separated from their mother and go to their new home.

How do you identify a good breeder?

Good breeders will be focused on providing ample time with the dam (mother) and litter, as well as providing early socialization, before puppies go to new homes. You'll receive full veterinary records and be able to contact their veterinarian if needed.
-The parents of your puppy must be screened for breed-related health problems.
-The puppies won’t go to you until they are at least 8 weeks old.
-The breeder will have lots of questions for you.
-You’ll meet the breeder in person.
