Meet 2 of our wonderful sitters. Husband and wife, Louise and Lenie. Louise and Lenie have just looked after 3 beautiful furries and 1 talented African Grey who's name is Kaleb. Apparently Kaleb is quite bossy and likes to laugh. Kaleb definitely kept them entertained.

- Grapes and raisins.
- Chocolate
- Salt
- Avocados
- Xylitol
- yeast dough.
We know we love to spoil our furries, but there are lots of other treats we can give them, such as:
- Carrots (yes some doggies love carrots)
- Peanut Butter
- Cheese (small quantities)
- Eggs
- White rice

Dogs get bored just like children. Stimulating the brain is better than a short term reward like a treat.

Exploring is a pleasurable experience based on the SEEKING emotion (explained by the neuroscientist Dr Jaak Panksepp). SEEKING emotion is looking forward to something good - anticipation of a good reward. This is a powerful emotion which provides pleasure in looking forward to having something.

How do we increase the SEEKING emotion in our pets?

Understand this. Dogs do everything to maximize a good reward for themselves from us, like either a feel good reward or food reward. This is simple survival. They love us unconditionally, but don't put human emotion into their equation.

Your dog's behaviour isn't personal. Your dog isn't out to get you. There's no morality to behaviour - it's not good or bad, not right or wrong. It just simply is. And we can use it as communication and information to help us make appropriate decisions for our dog's training.

As much as dogs are "man's best friend", dogs are inherently opportunistic. They tend to do what works best for them, what makes them feel safe, and what gets them the fastest results without expending a lot of energy. Putting a label on their behaviour only serves to fracture the bond that we have with our amazing dogs. Instead, let's just take their behaviour at face value and use it to develop our skills to shape their behaviour moving forward.

3) Select your preferred consult option and you will be sent a history form to complete prior to the consult.
