Myth Busting: Contrary to popular belief, scraping water off hot horses doesn’t help cool them down.

The speed of cooling is related to three things:

1. The temperature of the water.
2. The amount of surface of your horse that you cover with water.
3. The amount of water you put on.

The fastest way to cool your horse will be with lots of cold water all over the body.

Easter Festival is off with a bang 🤩 Super clear round in the 1.20m A2 competition class this morning for Anisca Smit. Anisca is one of our learner EQASA instructors @Mataffin Riding School.

So during our teams auction the crowd decided to use the opportunity to do a public service and put money into the kitty to get the opportunity in cutting Wills Husband mullet off. Thank you Bruce Knight. Best R200 ever spent. Thank you Wills for being a good sport! Taking one for the team 🤣✨️
