I love this girl. She needs lots of re-training and understanding after her last home but I'm hoping starting from scratch and learning myself will be worth it! Nighttime always means carrots and love which is a great bargaining tool 🤣❤️

7 babies means lots of enrichment fun, todays item was one of my favorites, the Rogz Grinz Ball (plus a lickimat for my lovely Lisa who prefers less of a challenge 🙈🤣).
This toy is great for enrichment purposes. Stuff it with all sorts and let your dog roll it around and lick it. Took me around a minute per dog to prepare with 20 mins of quiet after that, so there is always time for a little enrichment!
This was a quick mix of Pets Elite Dog Peanut Butter to stick some pellets to the inside, all topped with the Pets Elite Doggy Chips (sliced pig trotter) Our next one will be more veggie filled yum!
This is a great choice for a budget friendly option!

Let's learn! I have dealt with many a teenager (6-12 months) and it is the most hair ripping experience but luckily it doesn't last forever and there are many tips and tricks to make life easier.
Walking can be tough with a teenager as everything in the world seems more interesting than you, this can lead to reactivity on the leash, lack of listening on and off leash and loss of control on off leash walks (please DON'T walk offleash if you don't have total control and it's not a leash free place!!!!)
Engagement is so vital to be able to get your teenager to listen to commands both on and off leash, allowing you full control and a safe experience out of the house.
Remember when off leash to randomly and often recall and release and then every now and again clip on the leash and clip off again. This means that recall is continued to be preformed as there is no negative of coming back (I.e. going on leash and going home).

Little Saint went for her snip on Thursday, and while the energizer bunny is on bed rest, a good mental stimulation session was needed! We did lots of enrichment games to keep her from moving too much and to reduce her energy levels through mental rather than physical excercise (remember they are both as important as the other!)
She loved the snuffle mat and it kept her entertain for a good while, next was a simple treats in a brown bag trick, it took a little encouraging (and a little mutelo in the packet for extra encouragement) but soon it occupied her time wonderfully. Mental stimulation doesn't have to be costly. There are many things that can be reused, and 'diy'd'
We started off with lots of attempts to jump up and say hello but in 40 mins time after using her noggin' she was fast asleep beside me ❤️
With hot summer days and post surgery recovery limiting physical exercise, these sessions can be a great replacement, most behaviourists and trainers are willing to provide a service like this so never be afraid to ask us ❤️

Lily, adopted by the wonderful Lou from @vidaloublooms rescued by the wonderful Kerry (@wolwerivieroutreachwork). She is an anxious little cookie but has come so far with her confidence and we had a great session with the lovely mini labradoodle Angel (who will be spending some time with us over new year!). She always has her little brother Liefe with her for emotional support! Well done Lily ❤️❤️

My favorite outreach day is a sterilization day, there is something peaceful about allowing these gorgeous babies to have a deep sleep while they get pampered and most importantly stop them from creating even more dogs homeless and often abused that need rescuing. Its a reason to rescue, donate, volunteer or sterilize your own dogs (please note the by laws in CT require sterilization at 6mnths unless you are a REGISTERED breeder, please dont support breeders without this registration as they are illegal and adding to the ever-growing problem).
Once again thank you to the amazing Kerry from @wolwerivieroutreachwork for organizing today and putting in all the blood, sweat and tears to getting these days done and without her efforts there would be even more dogs to rescue and protect.
