We have found several Trich. positive bulls throughout our service area this spring. We urge all of our clients to only purchase or lease bulls that have tested negative for trichomoniasis. If you feel you may have a problem or that your herd maybe at risk contact us for testing or consultation.

Hi, I’m Dr. FJ Langenhoven—please call me Jaco! I’m excited to join Memel Veterinary Clinic as a Veterinary Surgeon. I graduated in June 2024 from the University of Veterinary Medicine and Pharmacy in Košice, Slovakia, and have been passionate about animal health from a young age.

I grew up in Hoedspruit, surrounded by both medicine and wildlife. My father is a doctor, and my mother is a midwife and psychiatric nurse; their careers inspired me to pursue a path that combines my love for animals with a commitment to health and well-being.

Starting my career in Memel was an easy choice—I was drawn by the expertise Dr. Neil and Dr. Heather bring to the clinic, including their knowledge in Epidemiology, Acupuncture, Rehabilitation, and Integrative Medicine. I strongly believe in the One Health concept, which recognises the essential link between the health of wild, domestic, and farm animals and human health. Disease control, quality nutrition, and the humane treatment of animals are all factors that impact the quality of our lives.

Hi, I'm Dr. Heather Nixon.
I have always had a love and admiration for animals and nature. Combining that with a thirst for knowledge led me to the field of veterinary science.
After qualifying from Onderstepoort in 2000, I traveled to the UK and to New Zealand, where I broadened my knowledge on both "the ways of the world", as well as my profession. I also learned about myself.
In 2008, I embaked on a different journey of starting a family, and in 2010, we opened our practice, Memel Veterinary Clinic. And so the shy little girl from a suburb somewhere had fulfilled her goal and followed her dream...
Then i decided I could do more! In 2020, i completed my certificate in acupuncture from the Chi University of Florida.
The i decided to do a years course in veterinary physical therapy and rehabilitation. I absolutely loved this new adventure, especially seeing the wonders it could achieve, and I am now working towards my masters degree in "Integrative Veterinary Medicine."
