ABOUT MILLER'S CHIHUAHUAS

The aim of Miller's Chihuahuas is to promote and raise the standards of genetics, rearing, and keeping of purebred Chihuahuas and the ethical general welfare of them.

We aspire to produce improvement on the Chihuahua by improving their genotypes and physiology through selective pairings. We ensure a continuous improvement of our Chihuahuas, generation by generation.

What makes us responsible and ethical?
We ensure that our parents are registered and healthy to perform their job. We provide all our Chihuahuas, from young to old, with top quality care, which includes: quality food, clean water, exercise, toys, socialization, professional veterinary care, AND in-house lodging. Yes, all our adult Chihuahuas and babies have 24/7 access indoors and have their snug beds (if they aren't sleeping in my bed haha).

We aim for quality, NOT quantity.

We have limited bookings per year, ensuring our chihuahuas aren't over used, as we do love them. (Please ensure that you get onto our booking list for when babies are born.) We are ethical and responsible. We do it for the love of Chihuahuas.

*Miller's Chis are available to approved homes under contract basis.
*Questionnaire must be answered. Refusal to do so, is an immediate way to get on the rejection list.

WHAT DO YOU GET?
•Registered Pedigree Miller's Chihuahua
•Miller's Chihuahuas Parentage Certificate (PET ONLY)
•Registration Certificate (Pet Only Registration Certificate - only given once sterilisation certificate signed by a registered vet is provided)
•Vet Card, including form for sterilisation certification of pet puppy.
•Puppy Pellets in Container (no soft food should be fed at time please)
•Puppy Toys
•First 5in1 Vaccine administered by vet (the other vaccines are at your cost - two more 5in1 vaccines and two rabies, and then annual vaccines)
•Deworming up to 8 weeks of age
•Health Certificate signed by Qualified Veterinarian on day of First Vaccination and Check-up
•Copy of signed contract

CONTRACTS
•Neutering/Spay applies in the Contract for all PET ONLY puppies
•Contracts for ALL Miller's Chis
•Rights Contracts for Coverings & Rights (to approved registered members only)
•Contracts are put in place to ensure a good home for our fur-babies, which is of utmost importance for Miller's Chihuahuas
•PET ONLY dogs will only get their registration certificate once proof of sterilisation is handed over, this is to prevent backyard breeding (Registration Certificate will remain with Miller's Chihuahuas for safe keeping until proof is provided)
•Chihuahuas with Rights will receive their registration documentation once paid in full
•All dogs are considered PET ONLY = litters prohibited, unless rights were agreed by myself

REGISTRATION
•ALL Miller's Chus are registered as 🐾 PET ONLY 🐾 Miller's Chihuahuas Parentage Certificate (breeding restrictions = no breeding rights), unless agreed otherwise.
•PET ONLY dogs will only get their registration certificate once proof of sterilisation is handed over, this is to prevent backyard breeding (Registration Certificate will remain with Miller's Chihuahuas for safe keeping until proof is provided)

WHEN DO YOU GET YOUR FUR BABY?
•May may only leave at 8-10 weeks old when they are physically, emotionally and mentally ready to leave their Mother.
•If Babies have to catch a flight to their new family, they may only leave from 10 weeks old.

PAYMENTS
•Millers Chis may only leave for their new homes once funds are reflected in full in my account (before or on delivery it has to be reflected in my account).
•Extra costs - if you opted for any extra services, these costs are to be paid in full.
•Deposits are required to reserve a Miller's Chi, but you may make full payment if you are happy to do so. (Please see info below)
•Delivery/courier/flights are to be paid in full, a week in advance.

DEPOSITS
•50% Deposit is required to reserve a Miller's Chi.
•25% of the Millers Chi full price is Non-Refundable when booking has been cancelled.

CAN BE DONE AT EXTRA COST:
•If Miller's Chi stays longer and is due for vaccination and deworming, you are liable for the payment of the vaccine & deworming done at the vet. It is very important for them to get their vaccines! All dogs on my property are all up to date with their vaccines, this is non-negotiable.

•Aftercare maintenance, if baby stays longer than 10 weeks old

IF BABY STAYS LONGER

•If no communication has been received and the baby hasn't been collected at 10 weeks old - the full deposit will be forfeited and the contract considered cancelled.

Helpful hints for you when you contact a breeder:

••• Greet and Be Kind. Politeness scores you bonus points at any breeder. •••

• Don't begin the conversation with "Do you have a puppy for sale?". Instead, greet and introduce yourself first before asking questions. We are humans too, greeting will set you up with a better response from a breeder.

• Do your homework BEFORE contacting a breeder, Google has alot of information. The more informed and knowledgeable you are about the breed, the more confidence the breeder will have in you.

• Be courteous, but persistent. Most ethical breeders have a full time job. We might not message you back immediately due to work. Following up is recommended.

• Don't ask a breeder about another breeder in regards to recommendations, if a sale goes wrong with someone else, we don't want to be held responsible or be put in a bad light for someone else's actions.

• Be prepared to ask your breeder questions that you would like answered.
Also, be prepared to answer questions that the breeder will ask you. A breeder may come across as suspicious, but don't take this personally. Responsible breeders have a huge emotional and financial investment in their puppies, and they want to ensure their puppies go to the best suitable and knowledgeable home.
Questions that you might be asked:
(As you will see in my pinned post, I have posted my questionnaire there)
- What is your living environment like?
- What type of life will the puppy have?
- Do you have children?
- Do you have other dogs?
- Will the dog sleep inside or outside?
- What is the purpose of you getting a puppy?
- When would you like a puppy?
- Where are you situated? etc.
Try to be as honest as you can be and give detailed answers.
Please note if you refuse answer questions like this with me, I won't consider selling a puppy to you.

*Puppies aren't available "on demand". It might take a while to get a pup. Be patient. (Ask the breeder about how to get onto their waiting list)

Tips from me:

• Always make sure the breeder you contact can verify that their dogs are in good condition - you don't want to support a puppy mill.

• Ask for many pictures, videos or even video call to make sure the puppies exist! There are SO many scammers out there! Don't be a victim of a scam.

• Ask for their breeder Registration Number and go verify that they exist at that breeding registry - this is a very good way to ensure you are getting purebred dogs with papers and to ensure that you won't get scammed.
*You can even go one step extra and ask the breeder if the dogs they bred with have breeding rights - many backyard breeders purchase dogs with breeding restrictions (not allowed to have puppies, therefore they can't register their puppies) and try make a quick buck out of someone (this is unethical practice).

𝗚𝗼𝗼𝗱 𝗱𝗮𝘆 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗳𝘂𝗿𝗿 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗲𝗿𝘀!

Continuously we are facing a sad dilemma, and we feel we want to bring the following to your attention.

We get alot of requests and we really try to grant everyone's wishes. The issue we are facing is that the very first message, email or whatever form of communication we get, the first question is: "𝗛𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼, 𝘄𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝗶𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗲?" Or even a lack of greeting...

We can not just give you the price if we don't even know what your name is, or are we as the breeder wrong in asking for an introduction first? Like so many other breeders will agree, if your first concern is pricing, you need not apply.

We get told that we are arrogant, and that we have an attitude by asking this very simple questions. Our puppies health and where they will end up WILL ALWAYS be of great importance to us. So yes, we want to know who we are talking to before giving you our valuable time and attention, especially when the information is readily available on this page.

Update on Miller's Periwinkle 🤍🥹🥰

Peri is growing in leaps and bounds, he is just like any other puppy that wants cuddles, food and play time. He has finally reached 1.5kg at almost 7 months old 🥹🤍 he has beat all odds and continues to bless us daily.

For those of you who don't know his story: a story of trial after trial.
Peri is a longcoat lavender and white Chihuahua that was born via c section and was deprived of oxygen. We worked hard to keep him alive early hours of that morning. He came home and couldn't suckle on mom as he was a mere 48 grams and couldn't latch on mom, so that meant we had to tube feed this tiny little puppy from day 1. Unfortunately, Peri got pneumonia from the cold winter mornings (even though he had his heat lamp and water bottle). He was raced to the vet on emergency with his almost lifeless body hanging in my hands... Peri was given meds, fluids and was placed on a big oxygen tank where he slept 24/7 in the oxygen mask. He was basically sent home as the vets couldn't do anything for him and our last home was prayer, love and the oxygen tank. This little man shocked the vets and came back stronger than ever!!
Peri then struggled to go over from his milk to soft food where I hand feed him royal Canine puppy moose with my finger in hopes to get him onto solids, as the vet said the milk was no longer enough for him at 4 months old... He would fade if we didn't make a plan to get extra nutrients in him to help him grow. Then boom!! Just like that Peri decided that soft food was better than his milk and never looked back. I was so proud of my Peri!
Hard times came when Peri couldn't walk one morning 🥺 his back legs were paralyzed, but he was in no pain... Off to the vet we go for different opinions at different vets to see what we can do for this little boy... He was sent home by the vet with the very story we all dread to hear, "we need to think of his quality of life and consider the sad route of saying goodbye". He was sent home for his goodbyes and mental preparations for this horrible dreaded decision... My heart said no, I prayed and prayed because why would he be in our lives, why would he have come this far for us just to put an end to it all. He is a fighter! He is our little lion!! 🦁 So I started contacting people to hear their experiences with anything and everything, hoping to find a remedy for him. Along came a dear friend who told me about 3x different medications to try... The vet didn't want to just handover meds, which is understandable... But I told them, what's the harm in giving it a last shot since the vets have given up hope in treatment... Guess what, it worked... A few weeks on these meds, a change to his diet and manual physio... He was walking!! My heart sank and I cried, I was so incredibly happy!!
So for him to be like any normal puppy, it's been a long 7 months journey and it's been an emotional rollercoaster... But I'm proud and grateful to have this little lion in my life. I would do it all again for him. Peri eats pellets, Peri runs and plays with other dogs and with his human parents. Peri growls and barks... Peri is finally a puppy and that brings so much joy to my heart. He is going to have a good, long and healthy life ahead of him! He has beaten all odds 🤍🦁🥹
