A poem from your Furry Friends - A New Year’s Tail

The calendar’s changing, 2025 is here,
So I’ve written some thoughts to make you cheer.

This year I’ll wake you with kisses at dawn,
Chase all the hadeda’s that frolic on the lawn.
I’ll guard our home with a bark so brave,
(Unless there’s a treat—then I might misbehave).

I’ll learn new tricks, fetch every ball,
Be your shadow, your best friend, through it all.
When you’re feeling down, I’ll nuzzle your hand,
And remind you that life is wonderfully grand.

The clock is ticking, it’s time for a start,
A fresh new year with love in my heart.
So here’s my vow, as your loyal furry friend
Let’s make 2025 paws-itively pup-tacular!

Our Story

Welcome to Shaggy Chic, where it really is “all about the dogs!” Located in the heart of Crowthorne, Midrand, our home from home boarding concept and stress free facilities have become a firm favorite for our visitors and their owners. The excitement of our seasoned day care visitors and boarders as they drive into our property is testiment to the fun they enjoy here; a doggy hotel and holiday spot for sure!

Some 4 years later we have expanded our services to include grooming as well as a dog park, for free running fun for dogs and have recently started puppy school, helping new puppy owners to raise socialised, well balanced dogs.

Many of our new clients pop in for a visit prior to booking, which we welcome. All our visitors enjoy a monthly packet of home made dog treats, for home time snacking.

We could not do what we do without the support and good natures of our resident Bearded Collies, a breed I have been passionate about for over 30 years. The Beardies welcome all our visitors with Beardie enthusiasm and gentleness. (www.ashvalebeardedcollies.co.za)
