About Roux Horsemanship
At the age of thirteen, Marco Roux discovered his passion for horses. With the help of his father, Roux learnt the ways in which to understand a horse’s behavior. He learnt how to communicate with horses and how to listen to their needs. Over the years, Roux practiced these skills with persistence and careful attention, and through this he gained natural horsemanship. Then upon return to South Africa, after living in America for a few years and making a success in the horse training profession over there, Roux and his father founded their own business in Bloemfontein. Their business, which deals with the training and taming of horses, soon gained much attention from horse owners and organizations from across the country.
Roux eventually began to host workshops and horse clinics in Namibia, Botswana and the rest of South Africa. Until recently, Roux is now the sole owner of the business as his father had reached his goals and retired. Like his father, Roux has a natural horsemanship and arguably this natural horsemanship is what drives the business forward. He is attentive to customers’ needs and most importantly to the needs of the horse.
Roux’s future business aim is to gain more international attention and to show people what horses have to offer through understanding their behavior and energy and through communicating with them. Roux credits all his work and successes to his firm faith in God’s guidance and to his father’s support. As his motto goes, ‘whatever you do, ride with all your heart – riding for the lord and not for men’. Natural horsemanship is hard to find when it comes to horse trainers, but not with Marco Roux.
