The 9th Day is a rescue, rehabilitation & rehoming centre for abused, neglected and stray animals. We are a registered NPC based in Krugersdorp, Johannesburg South Africa founded by Charmaine Booysens in January 2015. We rescue the forgotten, heal the broken and love the unloved. All our animals get vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, and sterilized. The 9th Day is pro-life, which means the only

time an animal will be send to heaven is if a veterinarian determines there is no way to save him/her. WE ARE THE BRIDGE OF WHAT WAS AND WHAT CAN BE. WE ARE THEIR PATHWAY TO A SECOND CHANGE. Whilst educating the poorer communities in and around Krugersdorp we also assist with sterilizations and vet care for their pets. We are
currently the only rescue centre in Krugersdorp and Roodepoort that focus on stray animals and offer assistance to the less fortunate. Together WE are The 9th Day. Together we can continue to rescue those who have no one and nowhere else. Welcome to The 9th Day family! At & Riana has been supporters of ours for many years (they also support various other charities). The first time I had the privilege om meeting Riana was earlier this year at Versilia Roses. I dropped something off for her, but she wasn't in the office. As I drove out this woman came running out the office hands in the air - a real "plain jane" - a casual shirt, jeans and tekkies - yes Riana. Sometimes you meet people and there's just this "deeper connection" - Riana showed me around and also gifted me with roses and a book (I never had time to read) ๐ŸŒน
We would speak over the phone from time to time. The second time I saw Riana was to help search for a Timber Wolf that was on the rose farm - managed to locate the wolf and the owner ๐Ÿ˜

The third time I saw Riana was with Nikita's funeral, she blessed us with extra flowers for Nikita. It is also only at this time in my life where the book Riana gifted me with (with our first "meeting") would come as some "comfort" in the darkest time of my life ๐Ÿ’”๐Ÿ˜ญ This is again an example of people cross your paths for a reason - Riana what you have meant for not only us, over the past couple of years, but for me over the last 8 weeks..........๐ˆ ๐‡๐€๐•๐„ ๐๐Ž ๐–๐Ž๐‘๐ƒ๐’.....

โค๐Ÿพ GRACE UPDATE ๐Ÿพโค Gracie is responding well to her treatment, she is eating and drinking and as you can see in the video she is in good spirit. She is even trying to give us a smile๐Ÿ˜ (Sorry about the flooring, we removed a carpet and just haven't had funds to tile yet ๐Ÿ™ˆ) It is still early days; we need to get the infection in her leg under control, but we are feeling hopeful that she will be winning this last battle ๐Ÿ™ Supporters and friends, alot of question are being asked and sadly also alot of negative things are being said. Why or how the snare was not removed, we cannot answer.......It is however removed now and the infection is being treated ๐Ÿพ (In our opinion) our vets truly are the best, we would be so grateful if we can just get our vet account down. ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ BEHIND THE SCENES OF RUNNING A RESCUE CENTRE๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ˜ I would first like to say a BIG THANK YOU to all my friends and supports that keep us going - you might not always realize it, but you are make an ASTRONOMICAL difference in the lives of animals that has been let down by humans, animals that have been failed. THANK YOU FOR SUPPORTING US, THANK YOU FOR BELIEVING IN US. THANK YOU FOR FIGHTING THIS FIGHT WITH US - WE APPRECIATE EACH AND EVERYONE OF YOU โค๐ŸŒป Friends and supports there is sooo much more going into a rescue centre than just rescue dogs and feeding them. They need proper vet care (often to get them healthy again), sterilizations, vaccinations, deworming, tick and flea treatment and the list goes on. These are all "little expenses" (not so little) that people tend to forget about ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ One of these "little expenses" and behind the scene duties - washing blankets - hundreds and hundreds of blankets, we use washing powder, HTH (to help with disinfecting). Yes, just like everyone else we buy the washing powder, the HTH and we pay for electricity (a bit more because we run a borehole) and on cold days we need to dry the blankets with the tumble dryer. We have 2 washing machines working the whole day, everyday ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™€๏ธ We are not a small rescue centre with 30 or 40 animals like some might think. We are a rescue centre with +/- 250 animals at any given time ๐Ÿ˜ฎ Friends and supports, I honestly do not know what more to do to emphasize how desperate we are for support from the community (individuals and companies). We have everything in place - SMS line, debit order system, a beneficiary on the MySchool program and PBO status. Yet, we are simply not winning. Gracie, even the darkest of days and the bad times are better in two's - you are no longer alone. You have so many people rooting and praying for you ๐Ÿ™ Gracie, you're like sunshine after rain when the sky's the perfect shade of blue โ˜€๏ธ Gracie, I'd give you the world, take it all from me, whatever you want you can have for free โค Gracie, you are so deeply loved ๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ’ž Grace is doing okay, she is really very scared of people - very heartbreaking to see ๐Ÿ’” With my visit yesterday, I just sat with my back towards her, talking softly - eventually she got a bit more relaxed and allowed me to touch her nose. Only enough to make my heart happy - she was like okay, you have now touched, now it is enough ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿคฃ I ended my visit with spoiling her with russian and chicken livers ๐Ÿ˜ Grace, has got a long way to go - not only physically but mentally as well. ๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿฅณ HEIDI FOUND THE PERFECT HOME ๐Ÿฅณ๐Ÿฅณ This was an adoption that was just meant ๐Ÿ˜ Heidi was not very "keen" on people. We knew if we could find her the right home, she will be an amazing girl. I explained to Philippa that Heidi is a bit difficult and might be snappy and won't allow someone to pick her up straight away. She will need a home, that will allow her to settle in at her own pace ๐Ÿพ Philippa and Phill understood the situation and decided that Heidi must join their family ๐Ÿฅฐ My goodness was this not just a perfect match. Heidi loves her new family, she is a happy girl that loves to play and cuddles and obviously mom and dad is happy to oblige ๐Ÿพโค Philippa and Phill thank you for giving a difficult girl a chance in finding herself and her happy place. May she continue to bless you with many more years of endless cuddles and loads of playtime ๐Ÿ˜ Heidi, you surprised all of us. We are very proud of you. Enjoy your new life angel โค๐Ÿพ๐ŸŒป
