K’li Scott riding Casrix’s Dianthus Amurensis and Luca Garella riding Treverton’s Legs of Thunder competed in the SHF Grand Prix held at Maxwells Equestrian Centre from 8 to 10 November 2024. They both rode beautifully. This was Luca and Treverton’s Legs of Thunder’s first time showjumping in an indoor arena, participating in the recreational events at 50 & 60cm, having the most fun. This weekend, our Equestrian head, K’li Scott, took on the challenge of competing three horses once again, at the KZN Champs being held at Mnt Helmsley Eventing, the Mount Helmsley Leonard Nyati Memorial Event. Leonard, was truly missed by all this weekend.

Despite facing tough competition, our team managed to secure impressive finishes in multiple events. The beautiful Iron Feeds Star of JHB took on the 95cm track and finished in 5th place, while the stunning chestnut Casrix’s Dianthus Amurensis competed in the 85cm class and finished in 3rd place. Even our newest addition, Flagon, performed admirably in her maiden voyage in Eventing, finishing 4th in the adult 65cm class.

We are proud of our Equestrian head, K’li, for successfully navigating and competing all three horses.

We would also like to extend our gratitude to Mnt Helmsley, the George family, KZN Eventing, and all the sponsors, support crew, and officials for contributing to the success of this event.

With our last Eventing competition for 2024 now behind us, we are thrilled for the upcoming 2025 season and cannot wait to see what it has in store for our team.

Springing back into Pony Day action with a bright display !!

Our pony day on the 24th of August was not only beautiful and sunny , but also very colourful !!

Our participants had a wonderful time learning some basics about ponies and spent time grooming and dressing them up with the "All things Spring" theme.
From spending time with and on the ponies to treasure hunts and pony activities, it was the perfect day filled with Pony everything !!

Nothing quite like making pony pals !!

Our K’li Scott & Briony Fromwald, on their respective horses, Iron Horse Feeds Star of Joburg & Invisible Ink, were selected to represent KwaZulu-Natal Eventing in the Novice team competing at 95cm, in the Adult SA Eventing Inter Provincial Championships 2024, held at Pondarosa in Nelspruit, Mpumalanga from 16 to 18 August 2024.

The KZN Team finished second to the combined team of Gauteng & Western Cape. We would like to take this opportunity to congratulate Gauteng & Western Cape on their well deserved team win.

We are proud to announce that our K’li Scott on her beautiful horse Iron Horse Feeds Star of Joburg won the Novice – 95cm class as individuals bringing home the Adult SA Eventing Inter Provincial Championship 95cm, 2024, title.

Our Briony Fromwald successfully completed the event, finishing in 5th place. Well done Briony. This will be Briony’s last event for a while, as she is set to leave SA, soon, to study overseas. She will be missed in the equestrian centre and on the competitive circuit.

As Mark Spitz once said, “We all have dreams. But, in order to make dreams come into reality, it takes and awful lot of determination, self-discipline, and effort.”
