PRUSSIAN POWER – NOW STANDING AT SUMMERHILL EQUESTRIAN
Prussian Power, himself unraced due to a career-ending injury in training, is a son of Equus champion Badger’s Drift out of Prussian Princess by Golden Thatch. Summerhill Equestrian are proud to offer coverings by this impressive stallion.
Badger’s Drift, Prussian Power's sire, had seven wins, 1300–2450m, including two legs of the SA Triple Crown and four places, from 3-5 years for earnings of R1.8million. He himself won Gr1 The Classic (1800m) setting a new course record, Gr1 SA Derby (2450m) and Gr1 Daily News 2000 (2000m). Badger's Drift was also a leading KZN sire, earning an impressive percentage of winners to runners of 40% during the 2012-2013 season. In 2012-2013 alone, he had five ‘black type’ runners, including Like Paradise (‘bold black type’), Catchadrift, Badger Lake, Lord Badger and Act of Supremacy.
Prussian Power's dam, Prussian Princess, is a half-sister to Imperious Sue, ARCSA Champion Older Female in 1997, and the dam of Blue Heather and Imperious Star, in turn, the dam of Sunset Trip and Thumbs Up. This is the female line of Hidden Beauty, Royal Air Force and Imbongi, Spring Garland, Kelly and Victory Moon. Imperious Star, a daughter of Imperious Sue sold for R320,000 at the Lammerskraal Stud reduction sale.
