This is funny, but also not funny, as it is the reality.
There is way to many dogs used as breeding stock in a inhumane and unethical way, to keep profit margins as high as possible.
ETHICS OF DOGS IN PUBLIC SPACES.
Dog walking ethics in Public Spaces, encourages responsible pet ownership, compliance with legislation and respect towards other people and their dogs.
A public space is a place that is open and accessible to the general public. Roads, pavements, parks, and beaches are typically considered public space.
As a dog owner, here are some “unwritten” rules, that I think everyone should obey.
Your dog is most probably the most sweetest, friendlinest and cutest pet in the world. However, not everyone will want anything to do with you or your dog and that’s fine. It is their right not to like you or your dog in their personal space. Please, no matter how friendly your doggy is or how big or small they are, don’t let them approach people or their dogs, unless you have their explicit permission to do so. Respect others and their dogs always in any public space.
*Your dog always have to be on a leash in a public space.
The Law in South Africa does not allow off leash dogs in public spaces.
*Clean up after your dog. (bring more p**p bags than you think you need)
*Do not use a retractable leash on sidewalks, at markets and other public spaces where other pedestrians share the same space as you, because someone could trip over your leash and you do not have full control over your dog
*Does not matter how friendly your dog is, keep your dog on a short leash, meaning that your dog is right by your side.
*Do not pet someone elses dog or allow your dog to approach anyone else or their dogs in public spaces, except if you have their permission to do so.
*A bitch that is on heat is not allowed in public spaces.
*Please do not take your dog in a public space if your dog is sick or has diarrhoea. You will unnecessarily spread diseases in public spaces.
Remember you are walking your dog, your dog is not walking you.
For this reason you are responsible for your own behaviour and your dog's behaviour in a public space.
To be considered towards other people and their dogs, does not mean that you and your pooch can't have fun in public spaces.

Too many dog attacks take place, on leashed-dogs and on people in public spaces, by off-leashed dogs.
