There are NO mistakes in Mother Nature

Organ meats are superfoods for dogs. They are very nutritious and contain many times more nutrients than muscle meats. So organ meats are not only safe, they are imperative and necessary to provide the best dog nutrition possible.
Here's an important fact. Feeding your dog only muscle meat alone, can cause nutrient deficiencies.
An alpha male and female dog in the wild, would know better than to eat only the muscle meat of an herbivore kill. They would feast first, on the internal organs, fat and stomach contents ( green tripe ) from a kill. Then share what remained of the prey animal carcass with other lesser members of the pack.
This type of species appropriate dog nutrition can help your dog recover from many common dog health problems.

Early November is the start of fireworks season around the world.
South Africa has strict fireworks laws but laws are not often enforced and so reckless firework usage means many animals spend a total of two weeks living in terror.
With that comes celebratory occasions, often along with fireworks season with many South Africans celebrating Guys Fawkes on Thursday, November 5, and others observing Diwali on Wednesday, November 14, 2020.
Pet parents needn’t fear the festivities this year as Lean Health K9 have you covered with a range of handy tips and products on how to keep your fur baby safe during this time…
Some pets are more sensitive to noise than others.
“It is important to note that with the more natural options, they do not all work with immediate effect and pet parents should be administering these calming ingredients or using these tools for a few weeks before anticipated high-stress scenarios for them to be fully effective,” she says.
Below are some easy tips for preparing for the days where fireworks will be used. If these methods are not enough, you can reach out to your vet or Lean Health K9 for advice or products to combat the panic and create calming environments.

If you want to go a step further, reach out to your local animal shelter and find out if they need anything leading up to the two week period.
• Exercise your dog early in the day and ensure they are kept inside in a safe place where they cannot escape if frightened by sudden loud noises.
• Keep the windows closed and curtains drawn, and turn on a radio or television to help mask the sound of fireworks.
• If they have to be let out into the garden after dark, it is best to place them on a lead and keep the outing brief. You may need to consider providing a litter tray so that your cat has a choice about whether they go out or not.
• Ensure there is a safe place for your pet to hide as this is a natural survival instinct. Ideally, this would need to be a place where the noise is minimised but, your pet may already have a favourite hiding place that you should make available and comfortable for this time. If not, create a den with a box, in a cupboard, or under a table or chair and use blankets and bedding to protect this area from the noise as much as possible. Set this up in advance of the fireworks. Never try to lure your pet out if they retreat to this place during the fireworks, wait until they are ready.
• Some pets feel more secure if they can sit with you. This is fine and won’t cause the fear to worsen. Stay calm and offer your companionship support. Be ready to offer a toy or treat if they relax enough to engage in this way.
• Try not to react to the fireworks yourself. If they frighten you, your pet will feel more alarmed. Try to act normally, and where possible, engage your pet in a favourite game or reward them with treats just as the noises begin.
• Remember that wherever your pets are in the home, they will need access to freshwater. Anxious dogs often pant more and therefore, may be thirstier than normal. Do not try to make your pet drink if they are fearful, just ensure access to water is possible.
• Ensure that your pet is microchipped and the chipping company has a current address or phone number on their system. Also ensure they are wearing a collar with an ID tag, just in case they do accidentally escape, it will help to ensure you and your pet are reunited as quickly as possible.
• If your pet struggles to cope this year, do not leave it and hope that next year is better. Seek advice from an experienced professional as behaviour programmes can help your pet to reduce their sensitivity to noises and prevent the fear from escalating into something much more severe.

" Parvo is every new puppy and dog owner’s worst nightmare. In a matter of days, a perfectly healthy puppy can go from playful and active to fatally ill. Parvo in dogs is a preventable disease, however, all new puppy owners and breeders need to be aware of the risks of parvo, how to prevent it, and what to do if a puppy catches the parvovirus.

What Is Parvo?
Parvo is a highly contagious virus. It causes an infectious gastrointestinal (GI) illness in puppies and young dogs, and without treatment, it is potentially deadly.

Part of what makes the virus so dangerous is the ease with which it is spread through the canine population. The virus spreads either by direct contact with an infected dog, or through f***s, and an infected dog can begin shedding the virus four-to-five days after exposure — often before the dog starts exhibiting any clinical signs of infection. The dog will continue to shed the virus while he is sick and for up to 10 days after he has recovered. This means that accurate diagnosis and quarantine are essential for the health of your dog and of other dogs, as well.

What Dogs Are Most at Risk for Parvo?
Young dogs between six weeks and six months old, unvaccinated or incompletely vaccinated dogs are most at risk for contracting parvo. German Shepherd Dogs, Rottweilers, Doberman Pinschers, English Springer Spaniels, and American Staffordshire Terriers also have an increased risk of contracting the parvovirus, although scientists are not entirely sure why these dog breeds are at a higher risk than others.

Puppies are born with antibodies from their mothers. As these antibodies fade, however, it is up to owners to make sure that the puppies receive a course of parvo vaccinations. The stress of weaning and a secondary parasite or infection, along with parvo, can lead to a more severe case of parvo, which is why it is very important to talk to your vet about the proper care for puppies and pregnant bi***es."....

How do you use f10sc vet disinfectant?
Regarding the F10SC Veterinary Disinfectant we suggest you use a 1:100 (10ml/l) dilution on pre-cleaned surfaces and allow to dry naturally - no rinsing required. This our recommended High-Level Disinfection concentration which will be effective if other micro-organisms such as bacteria are also present.

18/10/2020

I have taken some serious literary liberties with excerpts from publications to ensure the correct info gets across,
Canine Parvovirus is deadly in un inoculated puppies, read the below posts for more details.
That said, it is highly recommended that one always has a supply of
"F10 SC Veterinary Disinfectant"
around the home, this is not a cure or treatment for Parvo virus, but it IS a very effective disinfectant for use around pets and pet friendly homes.

"What Is Parvo?
Parvo in puppies is caused by the canine parvovirus. This virus is highly contagious and spreads through direct contact with an infected dog or by indirect contact with a contaminated object. Your puppy is exposed to the parvovirus every time he sniffs, licks, or consumes infected f***s. Indirect transmission occurs when a person who has recently been exposed to an infected dog touches your puppy, or when a puppy encounters a contaminated object, like a food or water bowl, collars and leashes, and the hands and clothing of people who handle infected dogs."

“COMPLETE & BALANCED VS COMPLIMENTARY”

Clients wanting to understand the difference between complete and complementary dog and cat foods is one of the most frequently asked questions we receive, so we’d like to explain in a simple and clear way.

Complete products are supplemented with vitamins and minerals, this enables the recipe to meet all of the cat’s or dog’s needs within each and every meal. From a nutritional point of view, a complete food could hypothetically be given every day, forever. However, this would not be advisable because feeding the same food every day would fail to provide the variety necessary to contribute to the nutritional well-being and the individual needs of the animal. It is easy enough to observe our pets’ behavior to realize how their nutritional requirements change: for example, in winter they live a more sedentary life, while in summer their activity levels increase. As you can see, the different needs of our pets need to be matched to their particular, nutritional requirements that a single food, even if declared as complete, cannot meet.

Complementary products are foods which, individually, are not sufficient to meet all the nutritional requirements of a dog or cat in a single meal because they have no supplements added. But this is exactly what happens in nature and in our (human) diet too: we do not ask if our lunch is complete, because we know that our diet provides us with balanced nutrition, with no deficiencies or excesses, if we alternate between different food sources.
