It was such a privilege to be part of this special bird’s recovery 🪶🪶
Injured Buzzard Update: 🦅
This patient, a Steppe Buzzard, had her wing strapped after previous x-rays revealed a fracture in the ulna ('forearm'). We carefully treated the damaged wing with our Photizo Vetcare unit, and continued feeding a nutritious Calcium rich diet.
And then it was time for the follow-up veterinary consultation to reveal the next steps.
Dr. Marina Bredell from Kranskop Dierekliniek once again sponsored the x-rays, and she was very happy with the bone knitting progress. It was decided to re-strap the wing for another week to let a tiny area callus over a bit more.
This beautiful bird needs the best possible chance at a free, wild life, and we're doing our best to help her achieve that.
