In Africa when the elders give you a present it's a form of a Blessing! You don't turn it down! I had a big dilemma yesterday when Ma Sophie 78 and Ma Betty 77 paid me a visit with 3 free range chickens as gifts for teaching them Agroecology and how since they started attending my weekly Agri classes their social/economic lives and health have turned around for the best! I tried to resist the gifts but at last they said 'these are the fruits of your investment in us' that melted my heart. Never underestimate your impact on people's lives. Community building ain't easy but with good ex*****on the results will be Wooow! In 4 month's time I will also be giving some chicks from this wonderful chicken to my best learners to start poultry farming!

Our Animal Kingdom is amazing! When the sun rises they live their coop and walk all over the street to their feeding field without eating the street gardens vegetables. They walk in a line and there's always a leader! They have the freedom but choose to exercise it with control and caution!
When it comes to us Humans we misuse our freedom whenever and none wants to be led in fact we all want to lead!
My ducks teach me a lot everyday!

Our Trainee gardeners harvested Peaches from our training centre food forest and they Agroprocessed them. They made juice, smoothie and also dried snacks!
What happens when fruit's are out of season? You can still enjoy their juice, smoothie or snack them anytime!
We are gradually building a community of Doers and Believers!

Whenever their mother's are attending our Agroecology weekly training classes, these 2 Chaps are always in action. Very attentive and when it comes to gardening they always want to take the first bite! One wonders if they never attended with their mom's who would have unleashed their love for nature or gardening?
When seedlings and other resources are handed out they claim their share and it becomes a win for their mother's and their gardens as they take home double share while other's take home a single share! Imagine if tractor's were being handed out, would you you deny them? Aren't they training beneficiaries? Will it be about age? Life is Amazing in a good way.
It's not about age, capital nor environment but about the urge and willingness! Wait and see as we groom this 2 little Farmers and many out there into role models in Orange Farm and beyond!

Anyone willing to share, support or assist this initiative to reach more people you welcome [email protected] or +27826396621.

Thabo is a typical Pantsula! He was very keen to learn about farming and gave it all during the course of the training. Today he's graduating with Pride and ready to serve his Diepsloot community.
If you see a potential in someone support them without expecting anything in return!

Our community gardeners are an inspiration. They divided themselves into groups of 4 and decided to work on one land communally!
This ain't possible at modern times as we all about ourselves. They will now contribute resources equally, contribute their time and share their sweat equally.
This is Fair Share.

Never be shy to share your journey with the masses! Someone is drawing inspiration or can relate to your challenges, solutions or success. It's been tough having to run classes from under the tree but at the same time it's such a peaceful environment to learn from. The biggest challenge is the rains that pour unannounced, the dusty winds and the ever scorching summer heat. Despite the above knowledge and skills transfer must take place.
We got a vision and we still loyal to it no matter what.
Next time you see us in fancy classrooms and offices remember where it all started!
What's your humble beginnings?

Kissing the Soil under Mother nature's Office!!!

The Heavens are bucketing! Water is going a waste.
Beds and land designs are very key when it comes to water harvesting and conservation! Always design your land with swales, mulch pits and contours to facilitate the above. Water will soon be a commodity if it's not now!
Let's conserve water at all costs.

Kissing the soil in the muddy rains!!!

Sunflower!
Why plant sunflower? Any possible uses or benefits?
1. Sunflower seeds contains oils hence used to make cooking oil
2. Sunflower is very high in terms of energy production for biogas plant
3. It is a rich source of protein for poultry in any given farm
4. It attracts bees for pollination and it's pollen and nectar is very good for honey production
5. You got problem with birds eating your crops or vegetables, plant sunflower as a sacrificial plant
6. Very good for composting
7. Beautifies your land, garden or home.
It's never too late to plant and experience the Beauty and Magic of this Sacred plant!

Eat First Grade Farmer!!!
My team and I made a vow that we shall never again eat second grade produce from our Farms and gardens!
When last did you eat first grade? Why is it that most farmers eat second or third grade and sacrifice first grade for the market? Why must others get the best and I get the rejects!
Money can't compromise my health. Be healthy first then your health will get you wealth.
Upcoming farmers are being fed this mentality that supply your market with first grade and then you can consume the left overs.
Eat first grade Farmer! Produce the Best and life will be abundant!!!

Kissing the Soil with First Grade!

Our 2nd Annual Chef's Table Eat-in was a buzz!!!
122 farmers and 23 kids 'young farmers' came together to celebrate the spirit of farming and reflect on 2023 as a whole! 5 Chef's from our team prepared the most scrumptious and finger licking meals with 90% of the produce from our Farms and gardens!
We always like to complain in our dark corners about our challenges and yet somebody somewhere got a solution to your problem, such gatherings always help people network, connect and find tangible solutions.
We couldn't usher in 2024 in a better way than this. Always make time to engage with like minded people.
There is sad myth that if you invite people for business ideas none will pitch up but if you invite them for alcohol or celebrity party the gates will be crushing! This ain't true, if it is then it's your responsibility to help change it, we did it and we will always do it bigger and better.
Our future is calling from afar through Today! Heed the Call!

Kissing the Soil with the Chef's Table Eat-in!!!

Growing your own food is so beautiful and so real! From a small mini backyard you can harvest so much abundance. The best thing about a backyard garden is that it's easy to maintain unlike big gardens. Learn the ropes from a backyard and grow with time.
If all had a backyard garden how much could one save? How many health's would be saved? How ecological zones would be created?
Don't be stuck with being a consumer of everything!

We Kissing the Soil in each and every backyard!!!
