The year is almost over and there is still a lot going on . The team was busy in the young vine nurseries. The vines are looking good and healthy. It was a couple of hot days, but the job needed to be done.

It has been a busy couple of days. The team is still busy with taking ELISA samples. The team was in a table grape block. The ARRA 33 vines are looking good and the grape bunches are looking even better.

The year is almost over but there is still a lot of work to be done. The team is busy taking samples for ELISA ( Enzyme Linked Immunosorbent Assay) testing. The samples are used to test for grapevine fanleaf virus in our foundation blocks.

Vinpro is excited to announce its new pruning competition, commencing today in collaboration with Felco and South Africa Wine.
This competition offers an opportunity to the farm worker environment to develop a key competency within the primary production space.
The Pruning Competition will have five qualifying events prior to the final event to be held at Boland Agricultural School in Paarl on Thursday, 31 August.
1 August Paarl/Swartland regional at Bosman Adama Grapevines & Plant Improvement.
4 August Olifants River regional at Werda Baken.
15 August Robertson/Klein Karoo regional at Zandvliet Wines.
16 August Worcester/Breedekloof regional at Nuy Winery.
17 August Stellenbosch/Cape South Coast regional at Grondves Vititec Grapevine Nurseries.
The Pruning Competition is free of charge on condition a FELCO pruner is used during the pruning contest.

All of the 2022-2023 grafting season vines are in. Lester and his team did an amazing job of counting, stacking and packing the vines. Thanks to all the vine nurseries. The vines are ready to be loaded and planted in the new vineyards.
