SPCA Pietermaritzburg - Happy Update πΎ
"Morning,
We adopted Spike from you about 5 weeks ago. I would love you to share his picture and video of him on your FB Page if possible.
So, that people can see how lovely he has settled in.
Thank you for everything you do for the animals with no voice."

Some time ago, Trainee Inspector Wandile Xaba and General Manager Sansha Singh, attended a cruelty complaint in Northdale.
They were met with a heartbreaking sight π. A neglected puppy was living his life on a chain. With the Animal Protection Act on our side, we manged to save the puppy.
The puppy was named Max and has grown into a healthy, handsome, friendly and loving boy πΆππ€.
Max is up for adoption, come say hi to Max by visiting the Pietermaritzburg SPCA ππΎ.
The Pietermaritzburg SPCA was approached by Mt. Pleasant Primary School to host an excursion to the SPCA.
However, after some questioning we were informed that not all the learners would be able to attend, as some children could not afford to pay for an excursion π’.
This was unacceptable and we decided to go to the school and educate all the learners on Animal Welfare π.
Off the team went, and were received with an enthusiastic and warm welcome π.
Both learners and teachers were thrilled with our Trainee Inspectors. The children were asked what the purpose of the SPCA was, and their answers were excellent π.
Thank you Mt. Pleasant Primary School for having us over, the preventation of animal cruelty and education of animal rights begins here ππΎ.
π...we received a call today about a dog that was spotted down a manhole in Imbali Township. We were advised that the dog was far down the manhole.
Immediately Sifiso our driver and Daniel secured the ladder to the roof of the bakkie and rushed to the scene.
The ladder was strategically placed down the manhole. As Sifiso got closer to the dog, it became evident that the dog was chained to a pipe π.
After breaking the chain Sifiso gently lifted the dog out to safety.
We are uncertain of the details of how or why the dog was chained in a manhole, but if found, the perpetrator/s will be punished! This was a severe act of cruelty against this animal.
Thank you to the complaintant and Well Done to our Sifiso and Daniel for exercising such patience and care ππ.
Pietermaritzburg please help the SPCA fight crimes against animals and continue its plight against the prevention of cruelty and suffering that animals may experience.
We spend nearly R20 000 (twenty thousand rand) on fuel expenses every month. Our Inspectorate team attends to all cruelty complaints, including the collection of stray animals. We are not funded by government and reply on your kind donations to function. We have to drive far distances, sometimes 50kms or further and back. We assist areas such as Richmond, Wartburg, some of CamperDown, and Elandskop to mention a few.
Therefore, we appeal to the community to assist us with donating towards our fuel costs.
For those wishing to donate please see details below. We really appreciate all donations π€π€.
