“I know horse shows & especially upper level competitions get a bad name.
I know many people say the horses are pushed too hard & the humans are “just in it for the money.”
But you wanna know what I see the most of at shows?
Riders who appreciate the heck out of their horses.
I see the giant pat at the end of a great round & the smile from ear to ear.
I see the groom waiting by the in gate with a treat, often biting a piece of the apple to give the horse their snack as they walk out of the ring.
I see high fives and hugs and the feeling of pure bliss.
I see horses with better medical care than 99% of the human population.
I see a horse knock the last rail of what might have been a winning round & the rider give them a pat & a thank you on the way out.
I see humans who do love the sport, but love the horse more.
I see competitors who consider their horse to be not only their teammate, but a part of them
I see a group of people who are completely consumed by one thing:
The feeling you get from connecting & competing with a horse who would do absolutely anything for you and you would do the exact same for them.”
Thank you Peter Morrison Equestrian Enterprises! Our jumping arena is looking fantastic.
