WHEN DO CATS COME INTO SEASON?

Cats can become sexually mature as early as 4 months old! This is why it is so important to get kittens spayed or neutered at this age to prevent them from becoming pregnant. From 4 months, female cats will experience heat cycles, showing signs such as restlessness, calling, and lying down with their rear ends raised. This can last a couple of days and reoccur every few weeks once breeding season starts.

While this can happen year-round, breeding season typically kicks in with increased daylight hours as we move towards spring. This signals warmer weather and, generally, more availability of food for the mother to provide for her kittens.

Cats have short reproductive cycles, with pregnancy lasting only 9 weeks, and females can come back into season just 6 weeks after giving birth. This means there is the potential for a huge number of kittens being born in a short period. Since cats can have litters of up to 9 kittens at one time (with an average of 4-6 kittens), the number of cats and kittens needing homes during the summer months can reach crisis levels for shelters!

So please spay and neuter your cats to help prevent these crisis-level cycles this year and in the years to come.

HELLO WORLD! - from Hunter and Scarlett 😻🌎😻

Hunter (dark tabby boy) and Scarlett (light tabby girl) wants to introduce themselves, they are almost ready to go to their forever homes. 😀😀

They are SUPER CUTE and LOVING.

They started eating kitten mouse and they are potty trained.

They are 5/6 weeks young and almost ready to to their forever family. Applications are open to adopt them.

Calling all Kitty 911 supporters. 😻😻

Kitty Rescue 911 urgently needs volunteers for this weekend.

As you know rescuing is quite expensive and we need funds, and all we need from you is your time and assistance in making and selling pancakes

Ghost Riders Limpopo has an event this Saturday, 3 August 2024 and we have the opportunity to bake our famous pancakes at this event. 🥞

We need volunteers to assist in baking, taking money, taking orders or rolling the pancakes.

The event starts at 10h00. We want to schedule different times for example 10:00 - 12:00

High school children are more than welcome to volunteer as well.

Please contact us and help us make a sucess of this this opportunity.

All funds will be used to pay vet bills and buy cat food.
