Please make sure the groomers used are certified and professional groomers! I have found so many fly by night groomers that the dogs are terrified to be groomed and that has skin conditions, scars and uneven grooms.
If you had your hair done you would only want the best so why not do the same for your pup....

Tips dog owners should know...

We as Asjas Mobile Pet Grooming would like to educate our clients in the best
way possible as we put your furry friends first.
Reasons why we would not recommend shaving a double coated dog.
The dual layers provide protection from the outside elements. A double coat acts as insulation keeping
your dog warm in the wintertime and cool in the summertime. The outer layer or “guard hairs” allow cool air to
circulate near the dog’s skin after he sheds his undercoat. Many double-coated dogs have pale pink skin and are
therefore more susceptible to sunburn. These guard hairs reflect the sun’s rays, protecting the skin from the
sun.Other skin conditions could arise such as hot spots,skin irritations and hair loss.

If your dog has a double-coat and is shedding a lot, you may think it will be helpful to shave him down in order to
move the shedding process along. But in fact, shaving a double-coated dog is the worst thing to do. Shaving prevents
cool air from getting to the skin because the undercoat is still present. And a shaved coat doesn’t protect against the
sun either, which exposes your dog to greater risks of overheating, sunburn and even skin cancer.
We as Asjas Mobile Pet Grooming would recommend the following for double coated dogs:
● We can assist to maintain the coat and deshed your furry friend. With regular grooms, we recommend that
double counted dogs should be brushed 3 times per week and bathed once a month.
● We also wash them with special shampoo that helps to keep their coats healthy and shining.
If your furry friend has a medical condition and a vet has recommended that the dog should be shaved, we will be
more than happy to assist you and your furry friend.
