🌟🏆Behold the Bold Buffalo: One of South Africa’s Big 5🏆🌟

Wild Clone presents one of our beautiful buffalo cows showcased on a pedestal mount! The African buffalo (Syncerus caffer) is a large African bovine and one of the "Big Five" game animals. Although the male is often the most prized for hunts, the female buffalo is just as worthwhile and exciting to hunt. Generally, the female is smaller and lighter than the male, with females typically standing under 5 ft at the shoulder while males stand slightly taller. Most notably, the differences include their horns and the fusion of them at the base of the head, forming a “shield” known as the “boss.” Female buffalo have thinner and less curved horns, with a less developed or absent boss, while males have larger, more robust horns and an impressive boss.

When it comes to their social structure, female buffalo are the core of the herd, typically staying with the same herd their whole lives as they form strong social bonds with other females and their offspring, collectively caring for and protecting the young of the herd. Male buffalo, on the other hand, are more solitary creatures. As they become older and more dominant, they may leave the herd and form bachelor groups. They are known to engage in dominance battles where they use their horns to establish hierarchy. On this note, the female buffalo is much less aggressive than the defensive male buffalo, yet still a formidable presence when threatened, especially when the young are potentially in danger.

A buffalo hunt can be dangerous due to the aggressive nature of buffalo when threatened, requiring a high skill level, experience, and respect. Their unpredictability creates an interesting hunt, requiring tracking of the herd and careful stalking. This does not differ with the female, making them an equally worthy trophy.

We would love to hear about your experience with the bold buffalo!

🌿 Discover the Majestic Beauty of the Striking Sable!🌿

Our expert team at Wild Clone has perfectly encapsulated the aura of the striking Sable, with careful attention to their glamorous horns, regal stance, and striking black coat. The Sable is a true icon. Each piece we craft captures the essence and grandeur of these incredible animals, bringing the wild to life in your home with unparalleled authenticity and artistry.

The Sable (Hippotragus niger) is found across southern Africa. They live in areas of light woodland that have a mixture of bush and grassland, but usually avoid open grassy plains. They can be found near waterholes, especially in the early morning and during the dry season.

Both male and female Sables boast impressive ringed horns that rise vertically and curve backward. Sables are known for their deep-colored coat; however, young Sables have a reddish-brown or chestnut coat with virtually no markings. As they age, the white markings appear, and the rest of the coat gets darker, with males developing a black coat after about three years. The older the animal, the more striking the contrast. It's interesting to note that in southern populations, Eastern Cape females have brown to black coats. Sables are often noted to maintain a flexed-neck position, which makes them appear larger than they really are and is an important manifestation of dominance for the male Sable.

Typically, the herd consists of one male that is carefully guarded by the females, with juvenile males being exiled at about three years old. These males then go off into their own group until they acquire their own herd of females. Sables are very territorial creatures and can become quite aggressive when unwanted males enter their territory or when threatened by predators. Due to their nature, they make for an interesting hunt with meticulous skill required to navigate the area while stalking this confrontational creature.
Whether you're a seasoned collector or new to the world of taxidermy, our Sable mounts are a perfect addition to your collection. Contact us today and let us capture the moment!

🌿✨Wild Clone’s Gentle Nyala ✨🌿

Our Wild Clone Taxidermy Team has worked wonders in capturing the gentle and inquisitive nature of the Nyala with their latest Pedestal Wall Mount. They've meticulously depicted the shaggy mane, inward-curved horns, and distinct markings that set the male Nyala apart from other African antelope.

The Nyala (Tragelaphus angasii) is an African antelope species found across Southern Africa, mostly in dense woodlands, forest areas, and thickets where they can easily take cover and stay near permanent water sources. Although inquisitive, Nyala are rather cautious creatures when they are in the open, preferring to remain in groups in sheltered areas. This makes for a unique hunt, with them mostly only active at water holes or at night.

Male and female Nyala are far easier to tell apart than some other antelope species. The bulls are considerably larger than the cows, with heads adorned with curved horns, unlike the cows. They have shaggy grey-brown coats with fewer stripes and spots on their flanks than their chestnut-coated counterparts, as well as long dark manes under their chins and from their head along their spine. This, however, is not true for juvenile males, who almost seamlessly blend in with the females in the herd until they are about seven months old.

We would love to hear about your encounters with the gentle-natured Nyala! Share your stories with us.

🌟🦌 Kudu: Grey Ghost of Africa 🦌🌟

Captured in Wild Clone’s exquisite shoulder mount, the Kudu stands apart with its long, twisting horns, which can reach over 70 inches in length, offering a stunning display of nature’s artistry. These horns are not just for show; they symbolize status and serve as a defense mechanism in the wild.

Witnessing the striking appearance of the Kudu, you know you have truly arrived in Africa. Known as one of the largest antelopes, with towering spiral horns and striking body markings, the Kudu is admired as one of Africa's most impressive antelopes.
Elusive and beautiful, Kudus possess excellent senses, particularly in hearing and smell. Often referred to as the "Grey Ghost" of the African bush, their ability to vanish into their environment is legendary. Hunters must be exceptionally quiet and patient.
Native to woodlands, savannahs, and bushlands, Kudus inhabit rugged, bushy terrain, preferring areas with dense bush, dry riverbeds, and rocky landscapes that aid in their concealment from predators. Hunters often navigate rocky outcrops, thick brush, and steep hillsides to find a vantage point without being detected.
Our Wild Clone artisans have meticulously ensured that the Kudu mount is not just a trophy; it's a celebration of wildlife, capturing the essence of Africa.

🌟The Lechwe: A Sight to Behold!🌟
Our half mount captures the breathtaking Lechwe, also known as the Southern Lechwe. Native to the floodplains of the Zambezi River basin, which stretches through countries such as Zambia, Botswana, Namibia, and a small part of Angola, this species thrives in its unique aquatic environment.

In South Africa, Lechwe are typically found in protected areas and game reserves, where they have been introduced and managed for conservation. These efforts promote biodiversity, eco-tourism, and game hunting under controlled conditions.

What makes the Lechwe so special? Its remarkable ability to navigate deep waters, combined with its long, spiral-structured horns and a distinctive reddish-brown coat that glistens in the wetlands. These features make the Lechwe not only a breathtaking sight but also a prized trophy.

Hunting the Lechwe offers an exhilarating experience, testing a hunter’s skill to adapt and track in marshland terrain. The thrill of pursuing such an adept aquatic runner in its natural habitat adds an unforgettable chapter to any hunter’s journey.

This half mount beautifully “Captures the moment” of the Lechwe by Wild Clone.
