It's customary for the Chairperson to write up a Christmas message on behalf of Cat Care so here goes,
I think, for many of us, this year has been like a whirlwind. At times, more like a hurricane.

But something remains with me on a daily basis, no matter how torrid the hurricane is, people's quiet strength and kindness shines through. No fanfare heralds in some incredible selfless acts of service towards our four legged honorary members, for whom, Cat Care continues serving.

To all those who walk with us daily helping as many as possible, to those who come in and offer moments of support and strength and to those who firmly stand behind us, helping where they can and finally to the peoples whose names get lost in the frustrating world of chaos the ferals cats experience but the kindness given is phenomenal. To you all - Thank you for always making a difference in a harsh world for both the cats of Gqeberha and the rescuers who face burn out daily.
May the holiday season be one of love and kindness to you all. Thank you for being there. Thank you for being you..

🚗✨ Meet Maurice – A True Survivor ✨🐾

Maurice’s journey is nothing short of incredible. He was found on a busy freeway, cars zooming over him, clinging to life. A kind-hearted woman saved him, but he disappeared into a storage unit, only to be found again – determined to survive.

When Maurice came into our care, we rushed him to the vet. At first, we thought he had ringworm, but it turned out to be scrapes and bruises from his terrifying ordeal with cars. His back legs were also injured, but despite everything he’s been through, Maurice’s spirit shines bright.

This brave boy is pure love. He adores people, thrives on affection, and is always ready for adventures and playtime. Maurice’s resilience and loving nature are nothing short of inspiring.

With the help of food donations and funds from the Mini Shoppers Appeal, we were able to purchase even more food. This meant that every feeder received a little something special to make Christmas Day brighter for our feral friends. 🐈✨

To all our amazing supporters – we can’t thank you enough for your generosity! Because of you, our fundraising drive was a success, and the impact is truly heartwarming.

📸 The photo below shows the food purchased with the funds raised – 5 x 25 kg bags, which have been decanted into smaller bags for our feral cat feeders and special Christmas boxes. A huge shoutout to Helen and Joseph for their hard work in organizing and packaging the food!

Thanks to your contributions, not only are our outdoor feline friends receiving essential care and meals, but we were also able to sterilize 10 cats! This effort helps ensure a healthier, more sustainable future for our feral cat colonies.

🍼 Kitten food & kitty milk (Royal Canin pink tin)
💊 Vet-approved flea & deworming meds

Cash or vouchers from Cat Box Pet Hyper, Coastal Aquariums, or any pet product outlets are also appreciated! 🛍️

💡 Note: This year, no need to donate blankets, bowls, or toys unless you’re able to help without stretching your budget. Every bit counts! 💖
