Our pets are part of the family. There are many situations that can separate a pet from its owner. Collars and tags can be physically removed or lost, but a microchip lasts a lifetime.

When strays or lost animals are brought into the clinic, the first thing we will do is to check for a microchip. Microchipping provides the greatest possibility of reuniting you with your pet if they get lost or stolen, and provides peace of mind if your pet goes missing.

Call us today on 041 3734243 to get your pet microchipped. It is a once off fee for life.

Our Story

Southern Cross Veterinary Clinic in Port Elizabeth is a small animal vets. Southern Cross Vets offers a high standard of medical and surgical care for your pet. Southern Cross offers physical rehabilitation, acupuncture, laser therapy, platelet regenerative therapy, veterinary or animal chiropractic and pain management for pets.

We are one of the first and only general veterinary practices in South Africa to integrate pain management, acupuncture and physical rehabilitation into our day-to-day services, with one of our Southern Cross vets holding four certificates in these fields. We were the first practice in South Africa to use the V-Pet Platelet Filtration Kit for Platelet Rich Plasma (PRP) Therapy. Using a concentrated platelet sample from the patient, PRP therapy supports the body's natural processes of regeneration in order to promote healing, pain relief, and mobility. PRP therapy is minimally invasive. It involves a same day procedure of short duration to harvest the platelet sample and inject it into the site(s) of injury. Some conditions that can benefit from PRP therapy include: osteoarthritis, cruciate ligament injuries, burns and open wounds and more.

As a team we continue to learn and introduce cutting edge treatments, surgical techniques and services as we seek to give you and your pet the total health care we’d like our own pets to receive.
