You should start transitioning your kitten to adult cat food around 10-12 months of age, but for larger breeds, this might be delayed until 18 months.

Remember to do this gradually, over a period of a week or so, to avoid digestive upset.

Most kittens are considered kittens until around 12 months of age, at which point they've reached their full adult size and are no longer in a growth phase.

Some larger breeds, like Maine C***s, might not reach their full adult size until closer to 18 months, so consult with your veterinarian for specific advice on your cat's breed.

To avoid digestive upset, introduce adult cat food gradually over a week or so, starting with a small amount of the new food mixed with the kitten food and gradually increasing the proportion of adult food.

Pay close attention to your cat's stool and overall behavior during the transition, and if you notice any problems, consult with your veterinarian.
