14 December 2024 - Animal Outreaches: Spreading Christmas Cheer at the Sawmills
On the morning of 14 December 2024, Animal Outreaches began spreading a little Christmas cheer with a visit to the children living at the Sawmills, an informal settlement with no access to water or electricity. Despite the challenges they face, the smiles of the children filled the air with warmth.
The day started with some fun physical activity as I introduced the children to a bit of Irish dancing. The lively steps brought laughter and energy, setting the perfect tone for the day. Following the dance session, we handed out boxes filled with delicious treats: hotdogs, cupcakes, juice, sweet packets, biscuits, and ice cream – all to make their day a little sweeter.
Anja added to the entertainment with a combination of her own Irish dancing and graceful ballet moves, captivating the children with her talent.
Before we left, each child was given a few items of clothing to help brighten their day, along with the hope that this small gesture would offer a bit of comfort.
It was a day of joy, laughter, and kindness – a reminder that even the smallest act of giving can make a big difference in someone's life. Thank you to all who helped this wonderful possible.
